Moon Rocks

Tasty Tuesday
A new recipe from the Ultimate Cake Mix Book.
These cookies were really interesting with the pretzels and oatmeal both in them.
They had a moist but crunchy texture.

Moon Rocks
1 pkg. devils' food cake mix
3 eggs
1/2 (1 stick) melted butter
2 cups slightly crushed (2 1/2 inch) pretzel sticks
1 1/2 cups old fashion oats
1 cup white or swirl chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350*

Blend cake mix, eggs and butter in large bowl. Stir in pretzels, oats and chips. Dough will be stiff. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 7 to 9 minutes until set. Cool cookies on sheet at least one minute before removing to wire racks.

Friday Photo Shoot Out ~ Yellow

I spotted something new in our town that was Yellow.
Perfect for this weeks Shoot Out!!

And Bentley Boy wasn't gonna believe this!

So I decided that we would take a ride in our town and show him
that something "yellow".

He so enjoyed the ride.
He loved all the sights.
(Isn't that ear sticking up the cutest thing, I love it!)

Down at the Car Wash on Community Rd. stands a
brand new "Yellow" Doggy Wash!!
Bentley wasn't as impressed as I thought he would be!

He didn't even want to get out of the truck.
And he sure didn't want to walk up this ramp!

In fact we had to push and pull him up into the tub.
The Sweetheart did the pulling and I did the pushing.

 Read the instructions first.
Look at the options:
Flee & Tick
Oatmeal
and
Deskunk.
Now since he has no flees and he has never even seen a skunk
and because he has sensitive skin, we chose the
Oatmeal  bath.
It even has a conditioner after the shampoo and rinse.
It was really nice.
It had nice warm water.
Even a blow dryer.
I believe he was looking for a way to escape and it was a good thing that he was hooked to the tub.
I took a towel to dry him a little bit more than just the blow dryer.
What a fun good time for $5.00!

If it wasn't bad enough that there was a wet dog and dog smell in the back seat,
I smelled like wet dog too!
Oh well, we have a nice clean Bentley Boy.
And I was glad that we were in the Sweetheart's truck and not mine :-)

Surprise Package

The dogs were being the good guard dogs that
they are and were raising the roof this morning!
I go to see what they are barking at and see the
Man in the little Brown Suit getting back in his UPS truck.
Okay, I'm thinking, 'what did I order now'?
I look out on the porch and there sits a box.
I pick it up and think, it sure is heavy.

What a nice surprise!
I open the box to find these Shirley J products.
I won the giveaway over at "What Ever Dee Dee Wants"
And I am sure excited to try these products.
I've never had them before.
I have a baby shower on Saturday.
I will be taking some of the food.
I will use some of these products and let you know how things turn out.
I love entering to win things on blogs!
I've been a very lucky girl and won many different things!
Hope you are lucky today!
Smiles!

He Ain't Right

This brother in law came into my MIL's house

and saw these sitting on the counter, except it was the chicken flavor and not the duck.
He opened the pack and started eating them.
He had eaten several when my MIL noticed he was eating the dog treats.
She told him that he was eating dog treats and he held the package out and
looked at it and said, "well dang, they are pretty good!"
He ate a few more before he closed the package.
He just ain't right.

Sunset and Full Moon In Georgia

I went in search of a beautiful sunset tonight.
And I found one.
We stayed so late that we had the beautiful full moon follow us home.

When we got to one of the bridges I snapped a drive by picture at 75 miles an hour!

Didn't turn out to bad.

Fun Facts About St. Patrick's Day

In preparation for tomorrows big day!

* The first St. Patrick’s Day Parades were not in Ireland, but in Boston (1737) and New York (1762).

* Irish immigrants living in New York actually out numbered Irish living in Dublin, Ireland at one time!

* St. Patrick was born in Scotland, but spent 40 years preaching Christianity in Ireland.

* Legend says that St. Patrick chased all the snakes out of Ireland.

* The three-leaf clover was used by St. Patrick to explain the Holy Trinity to pre-Christian Ireland.

* For St. Patrick’s Day every year, Chicago dyes its river bright green to celebrate.

* Leprechauns are hard-workers although sometimes mischievous! They are the official shoemakers to the fairy kingdom.

* 19 U.S. Presidents have claimed Irish heritage.

* Seattle paints a green stripe on roads on St. Patrick’s Day.

* Corned beef is completely an American invention, but very popular with Irish-American immigrants nonetheless!

Friday Shoot Out ~ Chaos

So Tauna and Connie wanted to know why I haven't been fishing lately.
This is the real reason.
We have finally started trying to remodel our home making it
more handicap accessible for the Sweetheart.

I didn't have to look far from home to find Chaos!

It's been a huge mess and I am already sick of it and we have just gotten started.
I need to go fishing soon just to get some fresh air.

Great Catch

The oldest son, the one on the left has a secret fishing hole on private property.
I found him in it a few weeks ago and took his picture from the shore.
He loves fishing and this day was so cold and he didn't catch a thing.

Last week I got an email from his cell phone with this picture!
He had caught this Big Mouth Bass and it weighed 7 and a half pounds.
He took the picture and then threw it back in for another day.
I was so wishing I had been fishing with him instead of what I was doing.

Tasty Tuesday

I won this great little book from a giveaway on Connie's blog.
I also got a way cute apron and a few other GREAT goodies.
This book is so cute.
It has a colored picture for nearly every recipe.
I've looked at every page at least 5 times. So fun.
The first recipe I decide to fix was these coconut cookies.
I made them to pass out to the sisters after my R/S lesson a few weeks ago.
The were received with lots of Yums!

Coconut Clouds
2 2/3 cups flaked coconut, divided
1 pkg. Yellow cake mix (I used a white cake mix in the above picture)
1 egg
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
1. Preheat oven to 350*. Reserve 1 1/3 cups coconut in medium bowl
2. Combine cake mix, egg, oil, water and almond extract in large bowl.
Beat at low speed with electric mixer. Stir in remaining 1 1/3 cups coconut.
I used the small cookie scoop and scooped cookie dough balls into
the remaining coconut. Roll to cover lightly.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
3. Bake at 350* for 10 - 12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
Cool a few minutes on the cookie sheet before moving to cooling racks.
Cool completely.
Store in airtight container.
Makes 3 dozen.
What I will do different next time I make them is this:
They reminded me of the Girl Scout Cookie, Samoas.
So I think that I would dip the bottoms in chocolate and then put chocolate stripes on them.
Can you say double Yum!
