Price of Eggs
The first week of September for our family was like this:
3 cases of Sinusitis
1 case of Bronchitis
1 confirmed case of H1N1 flu
1 case of Mental Pause
and MRSA!
I think that maybe you are not aware of how fast MRSA can affect you, please check out my son Travis blog by clicking here.
Oh, and by the way, you might want to turn your speakers down. He's got some wild music on his blog.
And another thing, that pictures has nothing to do with anything, it just makes me laugh.

Been Hunting
This is the reason I've been in Missouri!
Travis shot him at 105 yards with a 300 Remington ultra mag. He is a main frame 10 point with a 3 inch kicker off of his brow tine. (if you know what that means? Not sure I do.)
They planned this hunting trip over a year ago. Way before all of this past summers 'high health drama'. I tried more than once to cancel this trip due to bad health. The hard headed southern man I'm married to refused. So off we went to Macon, Missouri the week before Thanksgiving. We returned home Thanksgiving morning about 12:15.

1st Day of Black Powder
Only difference in this picture and one of Harry, is he'll be sitting in a wheel chair. Much more comfortable than the old hard ground. Trav picked him up at 5:20 this morning and they were headed for the woods. I'm so thankful he could go and have some fun with his boys! Freezer food or not! Last year 1st day Harry killed one and Travis killed 2. Harrison had killed one a week before with his Bow.Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Red Neck Pinata
Mrs. Peg from Christon's work had given her these Pinatas that had been in the storage closet for years. So she filled one of them with candy in case any little ones did show up for Reagan's 1st birthday party and they needed a little fun. No other real forethought, like where to hang it or something to hit it with? So, Amanda brought her little ones and Carla's daughter Anna and Shelby were there. And where there are little children there needs to be some action/activities.
So Pinata time!! Where to hang it? We were having Reagan's party at the cafeteria at Griffis Steel Co. Not really conducive to children's birthday parties. So Uncle Travis to the rescue!! He thought he could hang it from the overhead crane outside in the shop! Yea good idea, not really. It wouldn't stay on, it fell off 3 times. Poor frustrated children. It wasn't to bad an idea though because Travis could lower and raise the Pinata with the crane, to the height of the children. Now remember, no forethought to this little event?!? He had to find and old broom handle to hit the thing with. It was the funniest disorganized event ever witnessed by the older party goers. We laughed so hard at those poor children it was a shame. Finally Travis let Jonathon finish it off and candy spills all over the dirtiest floor ever!!! No forethought to sweeping under where the Pinata candy would fall! The poor little children had to pick up their now very dirty candy off the filthy floor. So sad! No one had ever witnessed such a redneck event before and we were all wishing we had a video camera because we could have turned the tape over to America's funniest Videos .

My Favorite Letter Carrier
That's the official term, Letter Carrier. But I'll probably always call him the "mail man." And NO we didn't get free stamps just because he worked at the Post Office! Any who this is a rare picture of my daddy in his postal uniform in front of his mail truck with my boys, Harrison and Travis. I love this picture.Memory of the Letter Carrier
Well, if you will hang with me I'll tell you about the time I thought that I was going to witness a killing. Really...There was this young deaf lady and her husband and about 3 kids lived on Kennedy Street. Since she was deaf she got an SSI(subsistance) check for those kids. She and husband or maybe he was her live in boy friend had had a fight and she was not staying there but her check was still going that address, stay with me I'm laying a little ground work.It was the first of the month and checks were in the mail and they knew it and was looking for them. I was to deliver down one side of Kennedy, turn onto Elmwood St. and about ten minuets later come back up the other side of Kennedy St. the side that they lived on. After I turned onto Elmwood and stopped at the first mailbox I noticed that a car had pulled up behind my mail jeep. I didn't know the guy getting out of his car but in my rear view mirrow I recognized the deaf lady. The man came up beside the jeep and said he wanted to get that ladies check early before I got back around to her mailbox. I wasn't sure I wanted to do that but before I could say anything here comes a guy in a pickup truck pulling up in front of my jeep so now I am hemmed in. This big old fat dude comes piling out of that pickup with a tire iron in his hand. The skinny guy standing beside my jeep looked up and charged the guy coming at him. They began to fight in the middle of the street and I have ring side seat of it. Believe it or not the skinny guy was able to take that tire iron away from the big guy.All of a sudden I look in my rear view mirron and the deaf lady is behind the wheel of the car behind me and revs up and runs staight at her previous 'live in'. BAM, she hits him with the front of the car and he's up in the air and rolling off the hood to the ground. Quickly the skinny guy is working on him with the tire iron. "Shay Zam", I see my opening and I escape and drive to a convenient store a couple of blocks away and call my supervisor, he calls the cops and tells me to wait there and he'll come get the women's check and he did and told me to continue with my route. Now, wait I still have to go back around through that area and deliver the other side of Kennedy Street. When I turned the corner there were cop cars all over the place. The cops have both contestants under arrest and I ease on through the area and go on my way. Now that was some experience and pretty intence for a little bit, but I have never forgotten it. Now there's one more..... no that's enough for now, more later if requested.Papa
