Shreck Was A No Show

It was a real shame that Shrek never showed  up.

Trav showed up for chili and to help Gma to put together a new book shelf
on Halloween Eve but the costume never showed up with him :(

It's probably all my fault because when he was a child

 we never did do much for Halloween.

Seems like they were always GI Joe wearing their camo hunting clothes.
Not real original.

I've never cared much for Halloween.

My DIL, the GRANDgirls mother, who worked

so hard her big freckles faded off during her work day.

The Thoughts Make Me Sick

Take 30 pounds of Apples. 

And a spanking new wash tub.

And a crowd of cute kiddo's and you get this.

My assignment for the Primary Fall Festival, Apple Bobbing.

My Shelby went first (thank goodness)
 Reagan is a smart girl, she wouldn't even try it.

The thoughts of apple bobbing in the midst

 of cold and flu season just grosses me out!

All those germs just swirling around and around

makes me gag. I had a hard time even thinking about it

but fortunately most of the apples had nice long stems

and I encouraged the kids to pick up the apples by the stems.

That was very easy and most those little ones

were able to do just that :) Yay!!

This is my darling DIL. She is dressed as Fiona!

She always goes all out and enjoys herself.

Sad thing is, she has a Shrek costume for

Travis and he wants NO part of it!

She's got a few more days to talk him into it.

A Little Croc Bling

A little vacation school shopping and we found these for both GRANDs.

Of course I had to have a new pair Crocs too.

Dad Griffis

Clemon H. Griffis passed away this afternoon,

August 12, 2010 he was 78 years old. He will be missed by many.

St. Augustine Love Tree

An oak tree that is totally wrapped around a palm tree,

now if that's not love I don't know what is.

It is believe that if a couple KISSES under the tree their LOVE last forever.

I love it and it is so comfortable!

I'm over the black and white ones and

I'm going to make some new ones.

I think a new couch deserves new pillows.

Pirate Ship

They found my couch!

It is one hour away in Jacksonville at the warehouse.

My boys will pick it up today or tomorrow.

Since When?

My parents live about 2 hours south of us in Florida.

When we got about a mile from their house I looked in the back seat and Rea had taken down her hair and hair bow.

I said, "mercy girls, we need to comb your hair before Grandmother and Papa see you like that."

Shelby was quick with a come back, she said,

"well they don't care if we look like hillbillies"

Since when did we ever become "hillbillies"?

We've been in St. Augustine, Florida.

We took the GRAND~girls for their spring break.

Their parents had to work.

But WE didn't.

We had lots of fun with them.

They say the funniest things.

They keep us entertained.

We took them to the Alligator Farm.

When I took this picture Shelby said,

" my mama is going to FREAK when she sees this picture!"

She was a little grossed out but the girls loved it.

Well, junk!

That's just all I need!

Somali Pirates

Somewhere off the coast of Africa

I believe that there is a boat load of

Somali Pirates sitting on my couch.

And I would gladly pay the Ransom to get it.

It's been so long since I ordered it

that I really can't remember what it looks like.

I think it looks something like the one above.

All I really remember is that it is black leather.

I haven't had a couch since November.

I miss having a couch.

I gave the one I had to the DIL and son.

My new couch was suppose

to be in around Dec. 10th.

I didn't really need a new couch but I wanted

one that was more kid and dog friendly.

One of my Son's and DIL's

have a membership in Direct Buy.

The first time I ever looked at a catalog

I saw this couch and thought what a wonderful price.

So I put in for one, saying that it could be my

Birthday, Anniversary and Christmas present

all wrapped up into one great gift!

So the Sweetheart gave in to the begging,

and I had the DIL ordered it the 2nd week in October.

I wrote her a check to pay for it right then.

I had no idea it was to be imported from

over seas somewhere, I don't even know

where it is coming from, I just know it was

to be here in 6 to 8 weeks time.

So the week before it was suppose to arrive

I let the other DIL come get my couch,

thinking the new one would be in the next week.

An Email came saying it would be delayed

and not be in until Dec. 17th.

Another delay, January 8th.

and another, January 27th,

And another, February 29.

Still no couch!!!!!

The latest date they gave us for

delivery is March 26.

I guaran~dang~ te ~ya,

it won't be here then either!!

I just know those Somali Pirates hijacked that

slow boat from China and are sitting on it

somewhere off the coast of Africa.

I think that when you find money in the

washer or dryer that it is your little reward for doing the laundry?
