This is Ethan Rauscher

I snapped this as he was playing on the hand rails at Sea World waiting on Shamu to make his appearance. My teacher said this was the winner out of all my pictures he critiqued! It was the only picture of a child that was brought in by the whole class.

I love this picture.

There is so much going on it keeps

you looking at it for a while.

But this is not what it looked like

straight out of the camera.

I gave it a little help. So look below to

the way I've doctored it? I don't have a

sophisticated program or

anything like that I just have

the free down load 'Picasa2',

it's very user friendly. I love it.

My teacher really liked it and

said it was frame~able! Whoo hooo!!

Harry asked me what I wanted a

picture of that junk for??

Little did he know I needed it

for my homework.

This is another one I took at

Sea World. I wish I could say it

was from my front yard.

I guess it's so common that

it didn't even get a mention from

'old teach' but I really like the colors.

Besides that I liked it and who

cares if he really liked it or not!

'Old Teach' did like this one too

for many reasons. I had several

more but I think that I posted them

last week. Sorry if I have over

loaded yall. I start my next class

December 3 (which happens to

be my 31st wedding anniversary).

I'm looking forward to both.

Comparing Notes

My grand daughters other grand parents stopped by the house for a short visit the other day and we were comparing notes about the girls.

So Emily tells me that sometimes she calls Shelby 'honeybun' and she asked Shelby if there is any special names that Gigi calls her??

With out skipping a beat, Shelby responds with, "yes, she calls me 'Grasshopper' and she calls Rea, 'Ladybug'.

Well when we hear this, Harry and I bust out laughing. That's the first time I've heard this one!

So Emily says, "oh, you mean you don't call her Grasshopper??"

Um, NO!

I call her all kinds of things but GRASSHOPPER!, I don't think so!

The child has a vivid imagination but seriously if it was 1972 I might think that she had been watching to much 'Kung Fu', (You know the one starring David Carradine.)

Where this one came from, who knows?? I'm tellin yall the girls a mess!

Wordless Wednesday

This is the youngest of my Royal Nephew's, Prince #2. I think that he is 5 1/2 years old. He was a such a cute baby!

But the real reason I show you this pictures is that every time I see it I think, my hair sure looks good. I love the back. Just sayin, sure wish it always looked like this.

I Just Had To Try It!

MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

1 Coffee Mug

4 tablespoons flour (plain flour, not self-rising)

4 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons baking cocoa

1 egg

3 tablespoons milk

3 tablespoons oil

3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

Small splash of vanilla

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well .

Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

Add the chocolate chips (if using)

and vanilla, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and

cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

The cake will rise over the top of the mug,

but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out

onto a plate if desired.

EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to share!)

And why is this the most dangerous

cake recipe in the world?

Because now we are all only

5 minutes away from chocolate

cake at any time of the day or night!

I over cooked mine just a little.

It was still moist and very chocolaty.

I also only used 1 1/2 T spoons oil and it

turned out fine. I ate 1/4 of it with

some cool whip. Tasty!

They gave the kids a trick or treat

bag and they had candy stations set up

all over the park. Lot's of children

wore their Halloween costumes.

We didn't know ahead of time about it

so it was just an added bonus!

Photo Friday Field Trip

This is from the bridge overlooking the

Darien water front. This is where the field trip started.

My teacher liked this picture better than the one below. He said that in this one he could tell that the river turned.

Same group of boats just taken further up so that it included the front two boats.

I liked that the one boat was pointing the wrong way.

I used the Nikon D80.

I only took 126 pictures.

That was a lot less than some

of the class members.

On the following posts I tell

you which ones stood out to the teacher.

I can say I've learned a lot.

I'm not sure if I can apply it all yet,

but I'm willing to keep trying.

Speaking of Amanda, she taught us how to make these cute cookies Tuesday night at Supper at 7:00. You know she's multi talented like that. Look at her wearing a cute apron. I have an apron but I never think to wear it. She looks very professional.

Now are these the oddest looking pumpkins you've ever seen? I made Shelby take a picture with them so you could see the size comparison. I've yet to do anything with them.

Everyone has been posting pictures of all the fall colors of leaves turning all those beautiful colors. This was taken Sunday in Darien. October 19th. How's that for fall colors??

This sneaky kitty baby ran out a cracked door yesterday morning and we can't find her. I'm been so worried. Bell is my cat. She loves me best. Mo is Harry's cat and has never been out side except to go to the Vet. But I adopted Bell from the Vet's office. She was found on the side of the road. She had been hit by a car and her tail, her back two legs and one hip had been broken. The Vet repaired her and I met her just as she had her casts removed. The Vet's office was just going to keep her as an office cat. We met her at Mo's first annual check up and took her home with us that day. January will make 7 years ago. I prayed we can catch her soon. I just had a lot to say today. Thanks for listening. (Well, reading, I mean.)

Tasty Tuesdays

Kraft has these Caramel bits that make caramel apples so easy to make. I like caramel apples but get intimidated by a whole apple on a stick. On Tara's blog she had these cute bite size candied apples on sucker sticks. If that's still to much work then Prudy had these caramel apple wedges that she gave the recipe for a week or so ago. I just happened to have some sucker sticks so I tried to copy Tara's Idea. I tell you they were very good and fun because you can just eat a few and not a whole caramel apple. Great party idea's too. Thanks Tara and Prudy!

On a different note Katherine had the recipe for this Boston butt turned into pulled pork, posted on her blog. It is sooo easy and turned out really well. Absolutely no leftovers. You cook it in your crock pot and then put it on a platter and pull it apart with two forks. Check her site for the play by play action. Anyone can do this and you'll look like the awesome cook you really aspire to be! Try it.

Word To The Wise

I got my first built in dish washer 2 years ago this month when we re-did the kitchen. After the first year I got a notice stating that I could buy an extended warranty. It was offering 4 more years of coverage for $129.00. I had to call the repairman once the first year because it wasn't emptying out completely. The machine was UN-level. No charge. I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money at the time or not but the husband said "yes". So I sent in the money and bought the extra coverage.

About a month ago my dishwasher quit again. I finally got around to calling for a repair. The service man came Wednesday. Prognosis, bad motor so it needed a new one and another part was needed. $400.00 not counting the service call, twice, he had to order the parts and come back again this week to fix it. My cost? Nothing because it was covered in my warranty contract!

Lesson learned, always get the extended warranty.
