Horrific Crime

Most of you know that my town, Brunswick, GA. has been in the national news this weekend, especially on FOX News. This is extremely shocking for everyone. Very little details have been released. The following is from our local newspaper this morning. I'm not sure I know any of the victims and I don't live any where near this area.

Brunswick News) Police offer reward for information in slayings
Glynn County Police are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people connected with the murders of one or more of eight homicide victims. Nine people were found shot Saturday in a trailer at New Hope Plantation in north Glynn County. Seven were dead at the scene, and 19-year-old Michael Toler died Sunday at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.

As of Sunday night, the lone survivor of the massacre remained in critical condition at the medical center in Savannah. Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering says the investigation was originally being conducted only by members of the Glynn County Police Department, but has now become a multi-agency investigation. Doering is encouraging anyone who might have heard or seen anything suspicious to call Silent Witness at 264-1333.

At the Jax Zoo on Friday we had the privilege of hearing the most incredible sound of this Lion roaring.

He went on and on about who knows what but it was awesome.

The sweetheart said that was worth the whole trip to the zoo, just getting to hear that sound!

He told the GRAND~girls that he was roaring at them cause they looked good enough to eat.

He's forever telling them something crazy like that.

They just do a little bit of everything.

As you ride around looking at the sights of St. Simons Island you never know what or who you may find.


Nothing to unusual.

Maybe you'll see some crazy fungi
growing just randomly on a tree.

Do you ever feel as if someone is watching you?
Be sure to look carefully.
A little closer.

If you can see faces in the clouds
you should be able to see faces in the trees.

If you are up for a little adventure out of the ordinary, try searching for a tree spirit.
That’s right, surrounding the history of St. Simons Island lies a folklore legend; the St. Simons Island tree spirits.
A local sculptor Keith Jennings, etched saddening faces into the trees in order to immortalize sailors who lost their lives at sea as well as several Indian faces.

I only found two faces.
I've been told of two more.
I hope to go in search of them one day soon.

School Lunch

When my kids were in Elementary School I hated going to the school because you could smell the cafeteria the minute you hit the door. The smell was so bad It always made me nauseous. I wasn't really looking forward to having lunch there this week.

Although I loved the one I was going to be eating lunch with the thoughts of the smells made me sick before I even got there.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good it smelled and tasted!

It was so fun!

I think I'll go again next week.

The speed limit on this road is 50 miles per hour.

I think it is kind of hard to watch for those tiny turtles.

I always watch for them but have never seen any.

This place is a Brunswick favorite.

I guess they know Pork Chop Sandwich's
to make such a bold statement.

This is a sign of strong winds.

This is a sign of a bad habit.

A sign that you are to lazy to go inside to order.

A sign that I am almost home.

A sign that you should know

before a Hurricane hits.

A family business for over 50 years.

A sign of old age.

A sign that no one lives here anymore.

Both of the GRAND~girls did really well that day and enjoyed their Aunt Chelsy's wedding as much as anyone. They are always up for a party and cake.
