A Little Croc Bling

A little vacation school shopping and we found these for both GRANDs.

They LOVE them!

Of course I had to have a new pair Crocs too.

Zoo To You

This is my Mellow Yellow Monday post.

You will find lots of yellow in these pictures

 but there is one that will stand out.

We have had some wonderful FREE programs at the library this summer.

On this day we had Wildlife Wonders, "Zoo To You" come to visit from North Georgia.

We got there early to get a good seat and we brought along

cousin Ammon who was here from Birmingham, AL. visiting Gma Griffis.

He was giving us the rules.

And then he started bringing out the animals.

This is a brown skunk.

I never knew they were brown.

I thought that they were all black.

A Brazilian Armadillo who never did show up for the party.

And this is my M.Y.M. picture.

A yellow Amazon Python.

Color Me Happy

A summer camp is held Monday-Friday 10:00-1:00 at our local "paint your own pottery studio" called "Color Me Happy". Shelby was old enough to go this year and was excited that her cousin Madi was there too. They did pottery-painting, canvas painting, building with clay, glass fusing, sand art & tie dying a t-shirt!

By the smiles on their faces you can tell that they loved it!

This was about half way through her painting. It turned out really cute.

 

Reagan isn't old enough to go this year. But she loves to go to the public library which is just around the corner from Color Me Happy.

She has been infatuated with all the Christmas books and we've only checked out 7 already this summer. I'm sure there are more that we haven't gotten to yet. That day I read her 3 and we checked out 3 more all on Christmas.
 And Christmas will be here before we know it.

Waiting For Fireworks

This year we viewed the fireworks in old downtown Brunswick.

We got there over an hour early to get a good place.

We try and sit right at the edge of the parking lot so that

the Sweetheart can get right out and sit down

and no walking or tripping involved.

Of course it's a good time to take some family pictures.

The weather was perfect, no smoke from the fires and the best breeze.
Everyone had such a great time.
Half way through the fireworks Shelby yells,
"This is the best day ever"!!
And it really was.

Mid~Week~Blues

A little invitation is all we need to find ourselves picking blueberries in 100* temperatures!

Twenty minutes is about all it took to get our fill.

Not fill our buckets but to be done with the fun of picking blueberries in the summertime!

Reagan can eat them as fast as she can pick them.

She used cousin Emma Mae's, blueberry picking container.

It is perfect around her neck leaving her hands free for picking and popping blueberries in her mouth.
Very few berries ended up in her container.

Shel is so talented she can hold her slushy and pick blueberries at the same time.

Thanks for letting us pick on your farm, GREAT-Aunt Juanita and Amanda.

No blueberries were wasted in the picking this day they have all been eaten and now we need some more.

This just makes me giggle.

Southern Girls Breakfast

But first, the hair.

As if one big flower, which she loves, isn't enough

she must add 4 sparkle headbands to the mixture.

I asked her if she had enough headbands

 in her hair and this is the look I got.

"NO" bows here!

You just get to that point where you

think you are done with hair bows.

One egg scrambled,

Cheese grits,

Bacon and wheat toast.

Chocolate milk for this girl,

white milk for the other one.

Nummy, nummy!
In the summertime the girls like to go to breakfast about
once a week at a small cafe just down the road.
They are well known there I guess
because the owner/waitress just says,
"Good Morning, Girls, will you be having the usual?"
And "yes, Ma'am" is always the answer!

One iPod

Two girls.
Cooperation will entertain them both.
All over Walmart they walked around like this.
It's great when we share.

Summer Waves

We have a really nice water park, Summer Waves, on Jekyll Island.

We got season passes as a Christmas present.

This year it also included unlimited use of the Putt Putt Golf on the Island.

I've taken the girls a few times.

I mostly sit under the yellow umbrellas and out of the sun.
