Naughty or Nice

My EVIL TWIN, Nurse Tauna, who lives in the Arctic Tundra of Idaho
bestowed this little meme upon me the first of the week.
I am always a day late and a dollar short
or either I'm just to hot to think straight.
That is how it has been this week!
WAY TO HOT!!
(I hate these things because I'm just so boring, I bore myself)

#1: What is the silliest prank you've ever played on someone?
When Harrison dropped off Reagan (3 yrs old) on Tuesday morning she had a "Mina" aka Pacifier wrapped up in her shirt hiding it from me. I broke her of that Mina while we were on spring break with the girls and their parents weren't around. I dared them to give it back or even mention it to her when she got back home. Well, she has done real well. When she had her tonsils out a few weeks ago her daddy bought her a new one!
(I could choke his guts out, in a nice way of course.)
Back to the story, I got it away from her and turned around and acted like Bentley Boo Dog got it from me then told her that he ate her Mina (pacifier). She was mad at him and wanted him to give it back. I told her he couldn't that it would just come out in his poop. She whined a little and not 10 minutes later she told me Bentley had to go bathroom he needed to poop. She watched him all day hoping she could some how get that thing back. I asked her what we would do with it if we found it, she said we could wash it!!! Now, that is wanting that thing BAD! That night she told both her mama and daddy about that bad dog. Next day she asked me if he went poop and I found her "mina". She was willing to get it back any way she could.
I know that wasn't really a silliest prank but that's the best I could do and I'm evil like that :)

#2: If you could go on a trip anywhere out of this country, where would it be? I'd go to Scotland with Tauna and then make her go to Ireland with me. Italy always looks nice in the movies too.

#3: Who played an influential role in your life? Both my parents, in different ways. I'm a lot like both of them.

#4: Are you OK with your spouse being friends with an ex? Um, never had to think about that one so I guess I just don't know, probably not so much.

#5: Favorite candle scent? Yankee candle, pineapple tropic

#6: Next movie I'm excited about seeing. No earthly clue.

#7: You must have one word to be banned from the dictionary and no longer spoken or used. What is it? I HATE hearing anyone use the Lord's name in vain! But I wouldn't want it banned from the dictionary. The word to ban would be the f bomb.

#8: Do you have a relative in jail? I don't but the Sweetheart does. In fact he has a few more that I wish were there too.

#9: What crazy fads were popular when you were in high school? Platform shoes and hip hugger pants with a wide white belt with your shirt tucked in.

#10: Have you ever been mentioned in a newspaper or on TV?
Yes, my baby announcement and my wedding announcement and a few other times.

Frugal Or Crazy?

The sweetheart would say,

"that, I ain't right".

Well that's debatable and that's okay.

When he ask for a new tube

of toothpaste, I usually tell him

there is plenty left in that tube.

I give him one anyway.

But that sets a challenge for me.

Now I can get a lot more

toothpaste out of that tube.

I can flatten that tube like

you wouldn't believe.

Since no one else is using this tube

I've been known to suck even more

toothpaste out of the tube. Now,
it's not like I don't have the money
to buy another tube. And at all
times I have no less than 12 tubes
of toothpaste in this household
of two people.
(in my years supply.)
But there is just something about
the challenge to see how much
longer I can use this tube of
toothpaste. And when I have
sucked out all I can,

I then cut the end off and there
is still toothpaste left in the tube.

Now you can call me crazy.

It's okay, the sweetheart does.
it doesn't bother me because I'm

still using that tube and it's
been a month now.
But I can see an end coming this
week. Then I'll feel really good
about getting another tube.
Would you call that frugal?
Or just plain crazy?

Great Loss

George Willard Rozier
May 24, 1944 ~ February 26, 2009
Each Life That Touches Ours For Good
Each life that touches ours for good
Reflects thine own great mercy, Lord;
Thou sendest blessings from above
Thru words and deeds of those we love.
What greater gift doest thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know
Than Christlike friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.
When such a friend from us departs,
We hold forever in our hearts
A sweet and hallowed memory,
Bringing us nearer, Lord, to thee.
For worthy friends whose lives proclaim
Devotion to the Savior's name,
Who bless our days with peace and love,
We praise thy goodness, Lord above.
Text: Karen Lynn Davidson
We have lost a very special friend, as well as relative.
Today was his funeral.
A beautiful service to honor the life of a beloved man of God. His Christ-like example will always be remembered.
How blessed we all were to have known and loved him.
He will be greatly missed.

400th post

Some time in the last few days I posted my 400th post. I also missed my one year blog anniversary. I started posting on my blog Feb. 1, 2008.
I'm not so sure that I'm going to be as dedicated to my blog in the next year. We'll just have to wait and see.
To look back, I think that this was my most funniest post. Click here if you want to go back and view it.
She still remembers this incident and told me not to long ago all about it and it's been a year since it happened.

Amish #2

I was taking pictures in the late evening and this Amish Buggy was coming towards me so I got out of the truck and took pictures.

I didn't know that the Amish really don't like their pictures made. I learned that from the neighbors when I got back to the lodge.

I watched him turn the corner and then got in the truck and followed him to his farm. I felt like a stalker. But they didn't have a phone to call the police and report me.

He had a very nice farm. If you look right beside the red barn you can see his buggy parked with his little sign on it's bumper.

Then when I was coming back I got behind another one. I'm not sure the proper etiquette for passing but I finally did very slowly.

I'm not sure why the Amish fascinate me but they do and I never tire of looking at them.

Sunday Sunday

Fable related by Elder George A. Smith, who was a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

“A man, traveling through the country, came to a large city, very rich and splendid; he looked at it and said to his guide, ‘This must be a very righteous people, for I can only see but one little devil in this great city.’

“The guide replied, ‘You do not understand, sir; this city is so perfectly given up to wickedness, corruption, degradation and abomination of every kind that it only requires one devil to keep them all in subjection.’

“Traveling on a little further he came to a rugged path and saw an old man trying to get up the hill side, surrounded by seven great, big, coarse looking devils.

“ ‘Why,’ says the traveller, ‘this must be a tremendously wicked old man, only see how many devils there are around him!’

“ ‘This,’ replied the guide, ‘is the only righteous man in the country and there are seven of the biggest devils trying to turn him out of his path and they all cannot do it’ ”

(in Deseret News, 11 Nov. 1857, 7:287).

As we strive to faithfully keep the commandments, we will face opposition. Some people endure in spite of all opposition, while others received great blessings yet quickly “turn from their righteousness” We can learn the importance of remaining faithful in spite of trials and temptation. We wait for the coming of the Savior. While we wait, Satan will try to turn us toward wickedness. If we prepare ourselves and if we endure in righteousness, we will be worthy to receive all that the Lord desires to bestow upon us.
This was from our Sunday School lesson for today, boy was it a good one.

Being Prepared

Nicole over on "Livin' Life Patino Style!" posted this great quote by President Monson yesterday.

“Many more people could ride out the storm-tossed waves in their economic lives if they had their year’s supply of food … and were debt-free. Today we find that many have followed this counsel in reverse: they have at least a year’s supply of debt and are food-free.” President Thomas S. Monson

She also had some really great sites posted as to where to go for help with your food storage and other things. Go read her post or check out some of these by clicking on the name.

Calming the Sea

Jesus and His disciples boarded a ship to cross the Sea of Galilee. As they were sailing, Jesus fell asleep and a great storm arose. The wind blew and waves covered the ship. Jesus' disciples thought they were going to be killed, so they awoke Jesus and cried, "Master, carest thou not that we perish?"
Jesus said, "Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?"
(Matthew 8:26; see also Mark 4:39).
"[Then] he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said
unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased,
and there was a great calm"
When the storm ceased, the disciples were
amazed and said, "What manner of man is this,
that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
This afternoon, I feel the calmness of the sea!
Thank you all for your fasts and prayers.
We love you all,
giig and harry

Gas Prices

This is pretty neat.
My mama sent this to me last week.
Just enter your zip code in the site below, and it will tell you which gas stations have the cheapest prices (and the highest) gasoline in your area - It's updated every evening. http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx?zip=&src=Netx
I checked mine last night and Flying J has regular for $3.53.9
Sorry, I don't think that this works for my overseas friends. Be a good neighbor and pass this along !
