Madigan and Shelby's first dance recital.

Madigan is our cousin Josh and Amanda's daughter. Her and Shelby had school, dance and primary together this year. They are best friends.

One Tiny Dancer took off their shoes before she got her awards.

It's fun hanging out with 4 year olds.

Madigan had her birthday party yesterday.

It was a cookout and a swimming party.

Lots of Fun! and Lots of cousins!

When Madi and her mom were doing her invitations she wanted to know who were they sending invitations too. Her mom read off the names and Madigan said, "don't forget Gigi."

How sweet was that?

Thank you Madi.

Alligator...

Seems like I've got some explain~in to do.

I have never seen this many alligators in one place out in the wild. I've seen gators from the boat sitting on the shore sunning. I've seen a gator or two up by the docks where the men clean and gut fish and throw it back into the water.

No we don't throw the children to the gators, they willingly put their heads in the gators mouth.

But all these pictures were taken at the Alligator Farm, Silver Springs or the Jacksonville Zoo. Seems like everyplace down here has an Alligator or two.

I thought this was a cool picture. The alligator is under water and that was his reflection on the top.

These are rare albino alligator.

This was a really big boy!

So, what I'm trying to say is that, I've never seen an alligator in my yard. You have to go to where the water is to find them. They aren't really that hard to find once you really look. But all in all, if you leave them alone they leave you alone.

So don't be scared.

You really have to watch for gators

here in these parts of the south.

They are really everywhere.

And they are always hungry.

Silver Springs, Florida

Home of the famous glass bottom boats.

This isn't here but not to far

from us in Ocala, Florida.

The water is crystal clear.


They even have baby boats for the kids.

And if you look the other

way this is what you see.

A little pond up in front of the Dollar Store. We buy a loaf of dollar bread to feed the birds and that sometimes turns out disastrous. You can read about it here.

These next three pictures were taken at the Jacksonville Zoo. We bought a season pass and we will be experts on the animals before the summer is over. I'm not sure what the animal is but I was impressed with the green algae water it was standing in.

The flamingo's pink colouring is caused by the Beta carotene in their diet. They feed on brine shrimp and blue-green algae.

This little water area is at the back of the zoo. Gives the kids a chance to cool off.

I grew up going to this beach.

It is about 26 miles from

my home town, Palatka, FL.

St. Simons Island, Pier

is the heart of the Island.

This is about 12 miles

from my house.

Most everytime we go

we see dolphins.

They have a very nice playground that

over looks the pier and the ocean.

Easter Sunday

An Old Georgia Pond

Odum, GA.

Jekyll Island, GA. has a very nice water park.

Summer waves. They just opened for the season a few weeks ago. This is about 18 miles away. We have season passes and the Grand~girls really enjoy the water.

These were taken last summer.

They have grown so much in a year.

Driftwood beach is on Jekyll Island.

This is overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

This was just and odd color.

This is what the marsh looks

like up close. Sort of yucky.

This is on the back side of St. Simon's Island, overlooking the Frederica River or sound.

This got so long I just had to quit. There are so many more places I could spotlight. This is a beautiful place to live and like I said in the begining we are surrounded by water. Great subject for me.
