Shreck Was A No Show

It was a real shame that Shrek never showed  up.

Trav showed up for chili and to help Gma to put together a new book shelf
on Halloween Eve but the costume never showed up with him :(

It's probably all my fault because when he was a child

 we never did do much for Halloween.

Seems like they were always GI Joe wearing their camo hunting clothes.
Not real original.

I've never cared much for Halloween.

My DIL, the GRANDgirls mother, who worked

so hard her big freckles faded off during her work day.

Waiting For Fireworks

This year we viewed the fireworks in old downtown Brunswick.

We got there over an hour early to get a good place.

We try and sit right at the edge of the parking lot so that

the Sweetheart can get right out and sit down

and no walking or tripping involved.

Of course it's a good time to take some family pictures.

The weather was perfect, no smoke from the fires and the best breeze.
Everyone had such a great time.
Half way through the fireworks Shelby yells,
"This is the best day ever"!!
And it really was.

80 and 8

My Mother In Law turns 80 years old today! Party later this evening.

The youngest Crenshaw boy, Maxwell turns 8 today too!

Both birthdays are such milestones!

Hope both of your birthdays are the best ones yet!

He Ain't Right

This brother in law came into my MIL's house

 

and saw these sitting on the counter, except it was the chicken flavor and not the duck.

He opened the pack and started eating them.

He had eaten several when my MIL noticed he was eating the dog treats.

She told him that he was eating dog treats and he held the package out and

 looked at it and said, "well dang, they are pretty good!"

He ate a few more before he closed the package.

He just ain't right.

Picnic

The GRAND~girls and I went with Mom Griffis to put flowers on Dad Griffis grave today.

It was the first time the GRAND's had been there.

They loved it there!

They thought it was so pretty that they

suggested we could have a picnic there sometime.

We got so tickled at them, they are so

precious and say the funniest things.

It is a beautiful and peaceful place and they didn't want to leave.

I guess we will be visiting often.

October 4, 1931~August 12, 2010

Most of you know that my father in law passed away August 12.

You may read his obituary here, if you are interested.

I just wanted to share a few family pictures taken the days after his death.

This is his older sister Juanita.

I said, "smile, Aunt Juanita!"

She said, "I am smiling."

That is not true because I have a beautiful picture of her smiling.

I'll share it with you some day.

I'm sorry to say that Aunt Juanita is in the hospital at this time.

She took a fall and fractured two vertebra in her back.

We saw her yesterday afternoon and she is doing

better and not in as much pain.

She is looking forward to coming home in a few days.

She lives here in Brunswick.

This is Clemon's baby sister, Betty Jean (aka, Betsy) who lives in Sandy, Utah

and his younger brother LeGrand who lives in Dallas, Tx.

This picture was taken on Friday the 13th of August,

Betsy's birthday, the day after Dad passed away.

my mother in law. Her and Dad would have been

married 60 years this coming Jan. 13th.

She is a beautiful woman inside and out and a

wonderful mother and MIL.

59 and 9

Happy 59 Anniversary

And the Sweetheart's youngest son is 9 years old today.

He's 26 pounds and difficult.

Look at the attitude, all I asked him to do was to smile at the camera and this is what he gives me!

Hey, I'm the one that feeds him he best be nice to me!

Her birthday is April 25.

They are going to be out of town

on her birthday so we had her

birthday dinner after church

last Sunday.

Christon is the mother of my

two precious GRAND~girls!

I'm really sorry that neither

look like her. Shelby looks

and acts just like her daddy,

Harrison and Reagan looks like

Christon's mother and sister.

One thing about having children

is that you never have to blow out

your birthday candles again!

And you always have help

opening your presents!

Easter Sunday April 12, Grandma Griffis Birthday

Even when you are a great~grandma

and you turn 78 years old

and your DIL (moi) only has

candles that say you are 55,

you still get help blowing

out your candles.

(no candles are safe around here)

And when every one goes home

This is a picture of Kathleen Floyd Griffis, my Mother In Law. She is 77 years old today. She is the mother of 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 6 great grand children. She is the center of the lives of the Griffis family and a great example to us all. (She's holding Reagan in this picture and it was taken at Reagan's 1st birthday party in Feb. of this year 2008.

This is Maxwell Sterling Crenshaw my youngest nephew. He is 5 years old today. He is the youngest son of Sandy and Sheri and youngest of the Billy and Janice Crenshaw's grand children. Happy Birthday Max! His real hair is blonde but I just love his 70's look in this picture.
