Local Wedding Venue

I photographed a wedding here at Dover Bluff a few weekends ago.
It was a Saturday and had rained all morning.
The skies parted and things cleared up for a very nice evening wedding.
It was held in the back yard of a private residence over looking the marsh.

This is a nice view of the Marsh from the back porch of the home.
This is a shot from the side yard.
The cake was so pretty and so delicious.
Close up of her bouquet.
The un-wanted guest were horrible!!!
Yellow flies, sand gnats and mosquitoes, oh my!
I knew they would be and I wore long sleeves and
long pants and used two different kinds of bug spray.
They also had sprayed the yard twice that day
but it didn't seem to help much.
I looked a little out of place with all the
pretty summer sun dresses but I was there to
 get pictures not look pretty.
Several persons commented that they
wish they had covered up more.
It's not always this bad, sometimes it's worse!
We didn't have a cold winter to kill off the bugs
so summer will be hot and miserable.
So thankful for air-conditioning,
which I have been using off and on since February!

Mellow Yellow Monday

I was a guest bystander with my camera
Saturday at the wedding of the Sweetheart's, first cousin,
Donald's son.
It was a beautiful day for a wedding and we enjoyed attending.

Handmade yellow and purple flowers on each cupcake.
The cupcake tree instead of a huge wedding cake.
I'm usually not as fond of cupcakes as I am of wedding cake
but this is the exception!
These were the bomb!!
Best cupcake I've ever eaten :)

The Groom, Randy's first marriage.

The lovely bride, Marie and her parents.

The kiss and the giving away their daughter.

This is a beautiful shot of Donald and Christine's back yard
over looking the pond. My boys have caught many a good fish
in that pond. And plenty of fond memories.

 The "I Do" kiss!

 Mr. and Mrs. Randy Barlow.

The parents of the groom, Christine and Donald Barlow.

My MIL, Donald, another first Cousin Farrel,
Sue, the Sweetheart's oldest sister and The Sweetheart!
Besides me, this is the only family that was there on Donald's side.
We were happy we could be there for the fun.
Okay, let me just say that no "good", southern wedding reception leaves out the fresh wild Georgia Shrimp and I must say these were some of the best I've ever eaten. I bet there was the best shrimp salad on Sunday with the leftovers!

All the food that I tasted was just wonderful.
Another favorite was the blue crab mushroom caps!

The spinach dip also seems like a must have!
Christine, the mother of the Groom did all the food
with the help of some wonderful friends.
It was wonderful as always.

 Let the dancing begin!

The Bride's friends from work did a little entertaining and it was really cute.

 The first dance.
Donald was telling us that they took dance lessons
so that they could have a wonderful first dance.

They did an awesome job all the way to the dip!

Everyone had a great time!
Wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon and evening
and not have the stress of being the wedding photographer!

Bridesmaids

In honor of that movie that started today, you know, "Bridesmaids"
The one I won't be seeing but have seen a commercial
for at least 3 times every hour on the TV for the last month.
I post the following pictures.

25 years ago this month was the last time I was a "Bridesmaid".
The bride is the Sweetheart's youngest sister.
Isn't she beautiful? And she has a handsome husband.
Now I wonder what she was thinking when she chose this fabric for our dresses.
I wonder did I help her pick it out??
I think we were all so pretty.
I made my own dress and my sisters, I think I made Gloria's too.

In order, my sister Carla, (who was Angie's room mate at college at one time) Lisa Farnsworth Hales, Angie's cousin, Gloria Griffis, who was married to Angie's brother, Brad. Moi, married to her oldest brother and Her older sister, Sue. The other bridesmaid,  Lori who is married to Angie's brother, Roger, isn't in this picture but she is in the top picture.

I think we must have been in a contest too for who ever had the biggest hair???
I think Lisa wins!
She is from Utah and those girls always had bigger hair!

Isn't the Sweetheart, purty?

Our little family.
Travis was 4 1/2 and Harrison was 7 years old in this picture.

As if the dresses weren't enough flowers for one wedding,
Angie's great aunt Enid made her a bedspread and I think some curtains
or a valance out of the left over material!
It was really a pretty thing.
I wonder if she still has it??

Now I double dog dare you to post your "Bridesmaids" pictures!

Mid~Week~Blues

The night that the Sweetheart got sick,
I had attended a wedding for my dear friend's only daughter, Kristie.

I am so glad I took my camera.

I loved the color of Beth's dress.

And it is my Mid~Week~Blues photo.

Kristie was a beautiful bride and it was a perfect day for a wedding.

This picture makes me happy.

That cute Kristie was waving at me.

Her mom and aunt Cathie were grinning at me too.

The little baby in green is Kristie's baby, Jay.

After the wedding and before the reception got going good

I had the privilege of taking baby Jay home and putting him to bed.

Beth's 85 year old dad also rode home with me.

His years of partying are sort of over, (grin).

I was trying to not disturb the wedding photographer

but I did stand way behind him and snapped a few of my own pictures.

They were just so dang cute.

This was their first dance.

And this was her daddy daughter dance.

I just loved all their smiles.

A sad note: her husband Jonathan broke his foot on their honeymoon in Key West.

He is in surgery today having it repaired.

What a way to start off their marriage and the for better and for worse part, :(

Honored

Y'all remember these wedding pictures of my nephew and his wife that I took in July?

I know, how could y'all forget if I keep bringing them back up again and showing them every chance I get, right?

Aren't they a beautiful couple?

This is Annie's twin sister Nikki, in the blue.
She's getting married December 23 of this year.
Guess who she wants to take her pictures???
That's right folks!
She wants "Moi"
Still trying to see how we can make that happen.
It's not looking real good at this point.
But I feel so honored they asked :)
Oh, and I forgot to add, they said "for PAY"
That means Money!!!
