Welcome To The World Baby Girl

Today, 4/11/13, I became a GREAT Aunt Gigi again with the birth of
 Ella Grace Vann
She was born at 2:38 pm
6 lbs 13 oz and 19 1/2 inches long.
Isn't she darling?
Her mother is my niece Jami.
(Carla's daughter and first Grandchild)
I'm doing her first photo shoot tomorrow.
I'm excited!

Once her 15 yr old Aunt Anna got to the hospital this afternoon
I get the above message.
It really made me laugh.
We all are cursed with these Padgett toes.

See how long!

What cha think?
She takes after her GREAT Aunt Gigi doesn't she??

Happy 15th Birthday

We had a family birthday party here at my house this
past Saturday celebrating my niece, Anna's 15th birthday.
Poor thing, I made her make her own birthday
cheesecake. Her request!
I figured there was no time like the present
to learn to make cheesecake. She doesn't like birthday cake!
**GASP**
Now we all know how much I like any kind of cake,
especially birthday and wedding cake!
This was a GREAT tasting cheesecake
and she LOVED it!

Leah Quinn

This is my talented niece, Leah Quinn Jacobs.
She is gorgeous and dramatic.
Leah is a singer, actress, hairstylist and cosmetologist
who lives in the Salt Lake City area.
You may have seen her a play or two??

I finally got around to taking her pictures.
We were suppose to take them in March when
she was here but she was way to busy.

We almost missed getting them again this visit.
This is what she looks like after driving home all day from
Disney World.

This is Leah with her mother Sue.
Sue is my SIL, the Sweetheart's older sister.
I love this picture of the both of them.
You would never know that we were getting
eaten up by bird size Darien, GA. mosquitoes!

Laundry Mat

My Mid~Week~Blues this week is our local "Laundry Mat".
For other Mid~Week~Blues click over here.

We have a really nice Laundry Mat in our town.
I love to go early when there aren't very many people there.

It is always clean and the people that
work there are very helpful and nice.

You can even play games while you wait

or watch one of the 5 flat screen TVs.

I introduced the "Laundry Mat" to my two nieces

this summer at different times.

This child had never been to a Laundry Mat

and I so think it is one of those necessary life skills.

As you can tell by her chicken in hand

we were there around lunch time.

Funny how those nieces have to be fed too.

This child was trying to catch up on her summer

reading list before school started the next week!

She had been to a Laundry before while on vacation.

A sucker was enough to keep her pacified.

The good thing about the whole experience

is that you can do 6 loads of wash in 22 minutes!

Then dry and fold all 6 loads in about another hour.

I LOVE it!

( My washer went out this summer and we are trying to remodel and I didn't want to get a new one until all that was finished and ready for a new washer)

When Your Cable Goes Out

And your tween~age niece is staying with you

and you still have electricity

be sure you let her pick a DVD to watch

when it is already close to 11:00 p.m.

And hope she picks

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

And try really hard not to wake the dogs and the Sweetheart

as you are laughing so hard at her laughing so hard

that you nearly pee your pants.

Makes for a fun sleepover.

Live Entertainment

We had surprise visitors come to our Crenshaw Christmas party.
The Savannah Crenshaw's brought their very good friends with them this year.
Lisa and her girls wanted to surprise me and boy did they!
It was a most delightful surprise.
Come again any time Lisa :)
We were fortunate to have live MUSICAL entertainment!
(We always have family entertainment but not of such high quality.)
These girls did an awesome job of a variety of Christmas music,
I was very proud of all of them.

Deborah and Amelia are best friends.
Amelia is my niece.
Da'Nette is Deborah's older sister.
This is Lisa, the mother of Da'Nette and Deborah.

This is my Brother Sanford aka "Barney's Friend Chris" and his wife Sheri, the parents of Amelia.

Kudos to these parents for doing what it takes to get their daughters to and from music lessons and putting up with the at home practicing that it takes to be such accomplished musicians. They are wonderful young ladies.

We enjoyed it so much!

Sewing Lessons

The nieces came from the north and the south. The northern niece got a sewing machine for Christmas. Aunt Gigi gave sewing lessons most of the day yesterday.
Northern niece made her first pillow case. She said she would probably give it to her brother. It's a little to wild for her dreams.
Even though southern niece said her mother won't let her touch her sewing machine, she got lessons too.

They made pocketbooks out of place mats. She did it all by herself except the buttons. She can sew buttons on by hand because I taught her a few years ago but we wanted to learn how to sew them on using the machine.

I made most of the southern nieces pocket book, but she did help!

They also made toiletry bags out of place mats. They turned out pretty cute. They were happy campers, no happy seamstresses.
