Town Hall Meeting in Jesup, GA.

Due to other obligations we could not attend the Town Hall Meeting in Brunswick this afternoon. We didn't want to miss this opportunity and so we cheated and went to the Town Hall meeting in Jesup this morning at 11:00. Jesup is 36 miles west of Brunswick. We were early and this is what we found when we got there.

The line was out the door and into the parking lot.

This is one time that the sweetheart being in a wheel chair paid off. We were in the line to go in and a person of authority escorted us straight to the front of the meeting and we had a front row seat!

Congressman Kingston had already had a meeting in Alma, GA. before arriving in Jesup. They were expecting about 60 people in Alma. Over 150 showed up. Now that is a big number for such a small town. Well the college in Jesup was expecting and had planned for around 200. The people kept coming and they opened up the partition and expanded the seating and still people were standing along the walls. This picture above was taken 20 minutes before the meeting started. Well over 500 people came to this meeting today. From Jesup he was going to Waycross and then to end in Brunswick this afternoon.

I was impressed that they started the Meeting with a prayer.

I'm telling ya, we all need prayers with this Health Scare Plan!

It stinks and there is so much to be concerned about.

The meeting was calm and respectful.

And I hope Jack Kingston tells Robert Gibbs

to tell Mr. Obama that NO ONE WAS BUSED IN!

WE ALL CAME IN OUR OWN VEHICLES!

And PEOPLE ARE MAD AND CONCERNED!

Jack Kingston did a great job of trying to help us understand parts of this plan. He answered a lot of questions. I can't say that I came away knowing a lot more about the plan than when I went. But I do feel better knowing that Jack Kingston does know the ins and outs and he's concerned and will continue to fight for what is best for us as Americans and what we want from him in South Georgia. There is a lot at stake and he knows that. Our leaders in Washington really need our prayers. This situation is a real mess. They need to slow down and take the time to look at it carefully and not rush to push it through the way Pres. Obama wants them too.

That is Eric Johnson standing behind Harry. He is running for Georgia Governor in 2010. He was very personable and we enjoyed chatting with him a few minutes before the meeting started.

I hope that the meetings went well in Waycross and Brunswick today.

We enjoyed going and learning a little more of what we are facing as a Nation.

A Rainy Night In Georgia

I braved tropical storm "Fay" last night and met Barney's friend Chris for a date to see the "Isaac's"! If we didn't have a foot stompin, hand clappin, head shakin, Amen, Praisin the Lord, kind of evening, then, I don't know what? If you ever get the chance to hear them don't pass it up! They are a bluegrass, gospel and country group. Our "cousin's" son, Nathan Fausett, plays the drums in the group. It was so fun to see Peggy and Nathan and the Isaac's again.

Weather update: Tropical storm Fay continues to hammer us. Schools have been canceled and we are under a tornado warning, not watch!! We lost electricity for a while last night but so far today we still have it. Sure hope we can keep it. Our big bridge is closed and roads are flooded. Stay home folks!

Update: kudo's to Echo, she guessed what my early and only present was! Nikon D-80!!!!

Sammy's Back!

And he came yesterday!

And boy did we need his services!

Thank you very much!

(He didn't really go any where.

He was playing with his son and

he broke his thumb in 5 places

and had to have surgery on it.

Sammy works at Griffis Steel Co.

and does yard work on the side.

I'm so glad he is better.

It was a really bad break!)
