Happy 15th Birthday
We had a family birthday party here at my house this
past Saturday celebrating my niece, Anna's 15th birthday.
Poor thing, I made her make her own birthday
cheesecake. Her request!
I figured there was no time like the present
to learn to make cheesecake. She doesn't like birthday cake!
**GASP**
Now we all know how much I like any kind of cake,
especially birthday and wedding cake!
This was a GREAT tasting cheesecake
and she LOVED it!

Happy Birthday Sister Dear
Carla Elaine Crenshaw Adams
The poor middle child of our family of 5 children.
We had a birthday lunch with her yesterday at the Seasons of Japan!
Twas a fun good time!
She was in town for a Dr.s appointment.
Good timing Sis.
These are Carla's daughters. Anna is the youngest and Jami Olivia is her oldest.
Our baby Brother was in town for work and was also able to join us too.
This little GREAT niece, Reagan, was so excited to have a party.
We went shopping at the Dollar Store and she and her sister picked out Auntie Carla some pretty funny gifts. Carla acted like they were the best thing since white bread and the girls really got a kick out of her opening her presents.
You recon we are all related with these cute freckled faces!
Both Reagan and Shelby with their Great Aunt Carla.
And then the two of us.
The oldest and the middle sister.
(I'm looking and feeling tired this week. Just been one of those crazy busy weeks)
On a different note:
Our sister, "Sissy", Clarie Leigh passed away 6 months.
Her passing has left a void in our hearts and our family.
I still have issues with the way her funeral went down.
If you were there you might know what I am talking about.
Longest funeral ever.
And her father in law gave the concluding talk and didn't speak about her but gave the longest talk about her husband THAT IS STILL ALIVE!!
If I even think about it much I get bitter feelings.
So I try not too.
Oh well, whatever!
I would like to wish you all a very safe and Happy 4th of July weekend!
Smiles!
So I try not to think about it.

Southern Girls Breakfast
But first, the hair.
As if one big flower, which she loves, isn't enough
she must add 4 sparkle headbands to the mixture.
I asked her if she had enough headbands
in her hair and this is the look I got.
"NO" bows here!
You just get to that point where you
think you are done with hair bows.
One egg scrambled,
Cheese grits,
Bacon and wheat toast.
Chocolate milk for this girl,
white milk for the other one.
Nummy, nummy!
In the summertime the girls like to go to breakfast about
once a week at a small cafe just down the road.
They are well known there I guess
because the owner/waitress just says,
"Good Morning, Girls, will you be having the usual?"
And "yes, Ma'am" is always the answer!

Tasty Tuesday From My Garden
Sorry Tauna for showing off my garden veggies when you
haven't had decent weather to even plant your garden yet.
My Garden has done wonderful this year
compared to the last few years.
This salad was so easy.
Just boil your favorite pasta.
Drain and while it is still hot pour your favorite Italian dressing
over the top and stir it in and then let it continue to cool off.
Chop into small pieces your favorite garden veggies.
I was so excited to finally have broccoli grow in my garden.
I've planted it the last few years but have never had it bloom.
So I added my broccoli, yellow summer squash,
green bell pepper, red onion, and cucumber.
The onion was the only thing I didn't grow.
Add the veggies to the cool pasta and then refrigerate
until cold. Enjoy!
I've never had a tomato plant grow this big
so I had Anna stand beside it so we could tell how big it has gotten!
They haven't started turning red yet but this one will make
wonderful fried green tomatoes!
There are tomatoes just covering all 5 plants.
They have gotten so heavy they were falling over and so we have had to stake them qnd tie them up.
We have also had an abundant supply of cucumbers.
I've been making lots of zucchini bread.
10 loaves yesterday to give to my V/T sisters.
We never get tired of yellow squash cooked with Vidalia onions.
I also cooked a head of cabbage from my garden
yesterday but forgot to take a picture of it.
We have really enjoyed our fresh veggies and
feel very blessed to have had such a good garden this year.

Mater Look-A-Like ??
And for more Ruby Tuesday participants check out this site.

The GRAND~girls thought that this old truck looked like Mater.
Shelby didn't want her picture taken but Reagan and my niece Anna were willing models.
I LOVE rusty things and this truck just did it for me.
The truck had a for sale sign of $10,000.00,
little to much don't you think?

Laundry Mat
For other Mid~Week~Blues click over here.
We have a really nice Laundry Mat in our town.
I love to go early when there aren't very many people there.
It is always clean and the people that
work there are very helpful and nice.
You can even play games while you wait
or watch one of the 5 flat screen TVs.
I introduced the "Laundry Mat" to my two nieces
this summer at different times.
This child had never been to a Laundry Mat
and I so think it is one of those necessary life skills.
As you can tell by her chicken in hand
we were there around lunch time.
Funny how those nieces have to be fed too.
This child was trying to catch up on her summer
reading list before school started the next week!
She had been to a Laundry before while on vacation.
A sucker was enough to keep her pacified.
The good thing about the whole experience
is that you can do 6 loads of wash in 22 minutes!
Then dry and fold all 6 loads in about another hour.
I LOVE it!
( My washer went out this summer and we are trying to remodel and I didn't want to get a new one until all that was finished and ready for a new washer)

The Old Fort
Saturday Photo Hunt
This weeks theme ~ Triangle
This is the sight of the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument
lovingly known as the "Old Fort" in St. Augustine, Florida.
I took many a field trip here when I was in school.
St. Augustine is about 30 miles from
where I grew up, in Palatka, Florida.
Anna, my niece and the GRANDgirls walking the sea wall.
The old Fort in the back ground.
This is my view from the sea wall and this is my Photo Hunt Triangle.
