Randomness With Pictures

It is 2:00 PM
It is 95* with a heat index of 107* out side today!
I am not leaving the house.
I went to the garden this morning and nearly had a heat stroke.
This is my FIL, Clemon H. Griffis
He had a quadruple By Pass done on Monday.
He is doing well and they had him up walking yesterday.
He will go to a Rehab place for a few days when
he is released from the hospital on Monday.

The 3 Arlene's
My Mother, Janice Arlene
Me, Gigi Arlene
And my niece, Amelia Arlene
I also have a Great Aunt, Betty Arlene
She has a daughter Becky Arlene
And also several cousins with the name Arlene.
I don't think that any one of us even go by the name
it's just our middle name.

When the Sweetheart and I were on vacation back in May
I called to talk to the oldest GRAND~girl.
I asked her what she wanted me to bring her from Michigan.
She thought about it a minute and said,
"I believe I want some 'Beef Jerky'"
I'm, like, "are you sure"?
She said "yes".
So that is what we brought her along
with a couple of summer dresses.
As you can see I still have that beef jerky.
She doesn't like beef jerky??
I asked her, "then why did you want me to bring you some?"
She didn't know.
So into the food storage it goes.

This is how the Sweetheart enjoys the beach.
What EVER!

More cake, yum!
A friend celebrated her 40th birthday last month and this was her cake!
Different but good.

Nip Tuck

This is a dog on drugs.

Bentley had a few things removed this past week.

His dewclaws and his manhood.

But look at that cute ear standing at attention.

The Sweetheart thinks maybe we should

have had that thing taken care of but it's my favorite thing about him.

He was a little silly acting.
He's feeling a lot better.

That's A Big Ugh!

The season officially starts today June 1, 2010 and will end on November 30, 2010.

On Thursday, NOAA released its annual hurricane season outlook in a press release. Like other U.S. weather forecasters, NOAA is calling for a very active 2010 hurricane season, and one that could be the most intense since the 2005 season, that produced 28 storms including Hurricane Katrina.

Umm...What??

Last night at the Taco Bell drive through the young 20 something year old handed me my order and said,
"Thank you Sugar, have a good night."
I took a double take and he had already walked away from the window.
I drove off laughing and thought,

He didn't look a thing like Flo!

Blustery Day

Just in case you were wondering, it's cold today.
Thanks to Ida.
She only left us with a few days of rain.
I thought you might like to know that it is 55* out side and the wind is blowing 13 mph with gusts up to 17 mph.
I know you are shocked! Try and soak it in will ya.
But no worry, Saturday is going to be back up to 81*
I can go back to complaining again.
It feels really nice.

Fantsy Pants Award
Connie gave me this award.
This award is called "Fantsy Pants." It's an award for "dedicated bloggers who love to blog and encourage friendships through blogging." State why you love blogging and pass it on.

Thank you Connie!

I started blogging because my cute niece Tara though I'd be good at it and helped me get it up and going. At the time I though that it would be a good way to keep the parents and siblings and other family member's up on the comings and goings of the Griffis household. And looked at it as an online journal. Since then it has turned into a way to share my pictures and other parts of my life too. I enjoy all the blogging friendships that I have made through blogging.Thank you for visiting each day and for the comments and encouragement that you leave each day. Thank you for the things I learn from each of you. I will pass this on to:

DAWN in Austin

DEVRI of The NAULA Tribe

JAN of Crazy Lady on Road 80.

She also has another blog that is

wonderfully informative.

I call it Give a Hoot.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got this cute Tea Towel
She lives in Australia.
She's a first time Grandmother
to little Matilda.
Thank you Sarah Lulu,
you know I love it :)
~~~~~~~~~
And last but not least I had a visitor last week.
I love turtles.
When we were growing up my daddy would bring them home when he found them on the road. We would play with them for a day or so and then they would crawl away. It brought back some of those fun memories.
~~~~~~~~
Now go and Make it a
Great Day!
Friday Shoot Out
Friday Shoot Out's Theme this week is Random
Last week we were making a delivery in Savannah.
Why use the GPS when you can get the Royal Nephews to show you the way. Oldest nephew says,"when you go over the this hill be prepared to see something really big!" I had no idea what to get prepared for but I was trying really hard to be ready to be 'WOWed'!
We get over the hill and he says, 'TA DA"!
He was right this was really big!
So big that I put in the telephone pole so you could see it in comparison.
~
So how's that for Random?
Pretty good huh?
When I was on my class photography field trip and suppose to be taking pictures of Skyler, I couldn't help but watch this couple and their photographer taking pictures.
So I took one too.
I was actually feeling very sorry for the photographer because he was losing light so fast.
I thought this was pretty random.
Ever seen the Zoo Keeper feed the snakes?
Cool!
I took this picture of Lovely Lane Chapel last week when I was taking pictures for the Water Challenge. Who knew I would need it this week for Random?
Still not sure what this is?
found it on the beach last week.
Did I show you what I got for Mother's Day? Before you get to feeling sorry for me that it wasn't something all girly, I picked it out! All the sweetheart had to do was pay for it.
It's an awesome wheelbarrow. When it is like this you can just rake up what ever and then roll it away. I've even given the GRAND~girls rides in it. Because of the big tires it is so easy to use. Need one? Check it out.
This is a Cedar Tree.
So big that I had to take it in two pictures.
Top half, not such a great picture.
Just one table at the farmers market.
Do you know what that green stuff is on the first row?
That's okra!
Yummy, anyway you cook it. If you like okra you must be southern.
Latest victim of the swine flu!
I don't have to tell you who he caught it from, do I!
Photo Friday
Which is the real leg and which is the
fake one?? Can you tell, can you tell???
This is the first time he has walked into our house since July! By the time he got to his chair though he was worn out. He's just weak from not walking. He's doing great and still going to P/T twice a week and that is really helping him to learn to walk again. Hopefully he can shed that walker in a few weeks. He walked all the way into the Lab today for blood work. I was so proud for him.
Changing the subject, we have been at odds about that gray goat on his face. It's driving me crazy. He says he'll cut it when he kills a deer. With his luck that could be 2012 and it'll be down to his waist like ZZ Top. I'm trying to have patients but it's hard.
I show you this picture so that you can see my new wall color. It's Sherman Williams Restrained Gold. Sistah Carla and DIL Jordan picked it out. It's different. It's growing on us slowly. I'll show you a before and after sometime next week.
Oh and what a cute little girl in the picture too. I asked her yesterday where her daddy was and she said 'huntin', clear as day. We had to bribe her out of the dress up tutu so they could go to the fair Wednesday afternoon.
My FIL.
No real reason for this picture. Just thought I'd share. Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
