That's the official term, Letter Carrier. But I'll probably always call him the "mail man." And NO we didn't get free stamps just because he worked at the Post Office! Any who this is a rare picture of my daddy in his postal uniform in front of his mail truck with my boys, Harrison and Travis. I love this picture.
SALT LAKE CITY 7 March 2008 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released today the official portrait of the new The First Presidency. Right off the bat let me tell you I didn't take this picture. It's the picture from one of my favorite blogs sites "The Pioneer Woman Cooks." She shared this recipe one day a few weeks ago and I've been dying to make them. I am going to make these Apple Dumplings for an open house this weekend so I thought I needed to do a trial run first. Winner!!! These will make you "slap yo mama!" So easy and quick. They have that "WOW" factor and you can really impress your guest with this one. If you'll click on her web site, The Pioneer Woman Cooks it will take you to her recipe. Yall have just got to try them. You won't be sorry. To give you a little tease, the surprise ingredient is Mt. Dew.
This is what mine looked like as I put them in the oven.

One day back in the fall Christon called from work. A lady she worked with was moving her Mother into an assisted living village. She was down-sizing and selling her home. She wanted to know if I'd be interested in some sewing things. Material, thread, buttons etc. etc. So I said yes and we went over that afternoon. I was not prepared for what I found when I got there! I though I had a collection of sewing things!?! But, I was wrong. This woman had a life time of sewing supplies. More that her years supply, more like a ten year supply! In her garage there was a wall unit stacked to the ceiling with bins of fabric. Organized by colors, may I say that I was so very overwhelmed. The orders were to take all I wanted. I came away with 4 of the 25 bins of fabric. (you might need to know I did get the bin of black fabric, my favorite color) I got all kinds of other things too about 10 small organizational boxes of rick rack, zippers etc. etc. As we were picking things out and loading things up this woman wanted us to take any thing else we saw that we wanted. There on the floor was a stack of blankets. My eye spotted this homemade quilt. I asked about it and she said take it. I said, "are you sure this looks hand made." She said "it is, My mother made it for my dad when he was in college. It's his alma mater." I'm like this is an heirloom. She said, "no, take it. My mother made so many quilts that we couldn't possibly keep all she ever made. We've got all the ones we wanted." So I snatched it up. It is thin and all stitched by hand. I think it is a treasure! It has become Harry's favorite! Look how old it is! 65 years old. I love it and it's the best free give away I've ever gotten. Wouldn't you agree. I went for some old fabric and came home with a real treasure! Picture above and a close up of one of the letters below.
Travis and Jordan were sealed for Time and Eternity in the Orlando Temple yesterday March 4th. It was their 2nd anniversary. (What a way to celebrate an anniversary.) It couldn't have been a more perfect day! Thanks to all those who supported them and helped to make it so special. Here are a few of my favorite pictures.
This is a picture of us with my parents, Trav's Papa and Grandmother Crenshaw.
Papa and Grandmother Crenshaw.

This was taken a few months ago. Comparing the difference is unbelievable. What a difference 4 years and a new kidney makes.
