Summer Waves

We have a really nice water park, Summer Waves, on Jekyll Island.

We got season passes as a Christmas present.

This year it also included unlimited use of the Putt Putt Golf on the Island.

I've taken the girls a few times.

I mostly sit under the yellow umbrellas and out of the sun.

Nip Tuck

This is a dog on drugs.

Bentley had a few things removed this past week.

His dewclaws and his manhood.

But look at that cute ear standing at attention.

The Sweetheart thinks maybe we should

have had that thing taken care of but it's my favorite thing about him.

He was a little silly acting.

He's feeling a lot better.

This is the sight of the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument

lovingly known as the "Old Fort" in St. Augustine, Florida.

I took many a field trip here when I was in school.

St. Augustine is about 30 miles from

where I grew up, in Palatka, Florida.

Zucchini

Friday Shoot Out

This weeks theme: Transition

I'm sure this a far stretch for the theme but this is all I could come up with this week.

Take fresh Zucchini

Slice it length wise.

Grill on both sides for 3-4 minutes.

Cover it with your favorite pasta sauce.

Sprinkle with your favorite cheese.

First Time

Tasty Tuesday

Homemade Salsa

12 cups skinned tomatoes

3 large onions diced in large chunks

( I use the sweet Vidalia onions)

6 large green peppers cut in large chunks

(I used 3 green and 3 red peppers)

4-5 hot peppers

(I only used 2)

1 & 1/2 cups 5% white vinegar

1/2 cup sugar

3 Tablespoons salt

1 Tablespoon black pepper

Combine all together and let simmer 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

Put clean jars in 200* oven for 1/2 hour.

This will keep them hot and sterilized.

Put lids in pan of water and boil.

Dip boiling salsa into hot jars.

Wipe rims and place hot lids on jar and

screw the on rings on tight.

Jars will seal as they cool.

This is the first time I've ever made it myself, she usually gives us some when she makes it.

This isn't to hot and a tad sweet

and we can eat a jar in one sitting.

I'm in love with it.

She gets ice cream

Reagan Kendall Griffis had her tonsils and adenoids out this morning and things went really well. She is eating and drinking and that's a good thing because when the numbing med wears off she might not eating again for a while. She was really grump when she woke up but feeling better now. I think that we will spend most of the week indoors.

Our 4th of July

Friday Shoot Out

Our subject this week is... The Fourth of July in your Town

We spent the evening with our oldest son

and his wife and our only GRAND~girls!

It was a most delightful evening

with a nice cool front and great breeze.

There was a lot of sister love going around.

Their daddy helped them practice the art of "sparklers"

in the day light so they would know what to do in the dark.

They caught on fast and really enjoyed playing with them.

This was the view in front of us.

Behind us, the parking lot.

I feel like I captured fireworks a lot better this year than I did last year.

We missed Jor Jor and Big Baby.

They celebrated with her family in another state.
