Just in case you were wondering, it's cold today.

Thanks to Ida.

She only left us with a few days of rain.

I thought you might like to know that it is 55* out side and the wind is blowing 13 mph with gusts up to 17 mph.

I know you are shocked! Try and soak it in will ya.

But no worry, Saturday is going to be back up to 81*

I can go back to complaining again.

It feels really nice.

Skyline:

I wouldn't call this much of a skyline but it's all I got from my photo archives.

These were taken through the truck window going 50 miles an hour.

I still think that they are pretty pictures and shows what a beautiful drive it is over the causeway from Brunswick to St. Simons Island.

I love chocolate chips just not in Pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins or pumpkin cookies.

I was really up set that I can't find Shelby's first Halloween pictures in my photo files.

This picture was taken the month before Halloween. I'll keep looking for my pictures of her first.

Pumpkin Cake
This is somewhat similar to a pumpkin pie, with a cake-like crust and topped with a crispy, sweet streusel.

So, this cake is made in 3 sections.

First, mix the following together:

1 yellow cake mix (reserve 3/4 c.)
1 cube butter (1/2 c.), melted
1 egg, beaten

Then press into a greased 9×13 cake pan. Set aside.

Next, mix these following ingredients together in large bowl:
1 large can of pumpkin
3 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. sugar
2/3 c. canned milk
2 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

Pour this mixture over your previously pressed crust in pan.

Topping for pumpkin cake:

3/4 c. cake mix
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 c. chopped nuts

Blend ingredients; sprinkle on top of cake.
Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes (do not overcook).
