You don't even want to get me started!!! My mother had to quit driving when she was 32 (I as 6) due to losing her vision. All of my adult life, I drove her and when she was with me, we had a handicap permit. I can't tell you how often healthy people (some going into the fitness club!) would park in handicap and poor mother would have to stumble across a long distance hanging on to me for dear life. And another thing, I can't tell you how often UPS making deliveries to store fronts, pulls up BEHIND cars parked in handicapped spaces and blocks them in!!!!!!! Just this April, John received a handicap permit that I use ONLY when he is with me.
I should point out that mama's dr. was next door to a fitness club. I could not believe that healthy folks going in for a workout on the treadmill were too lazy to walk thru the parking lot.
I am bad.. I do it. but techinally I am handicapped. I just haven't went to the dmv to get a card. bad me.. people look at me wierd untill I walk out of my car. And some people still giv me looks even when I get out of my car.. win win situation.. yes, I should get a card.. but I don't want too! :)
I agree with that! My husband is always wanting me to get a handicap thing for the car. Some days it is very hard for me to walk far because of my asthma but I am still going to try as long as I can.
I don't know if you are talking about people who swipe these spots, or ones who somehow have permits. Haven't you seen a lot of people who jump right out of their cars and run into the store, but have a handicap permit??

Those who park in handicap zones without a permit ARE handicapped IN head & heart.
Agree, agree, agree!
