It is 95* with a heat index of 107* out side today!
I am not leaving the house.
I went to the garden this morning and nearly had a heat stroke.
This is my FIL, Clemon H. GriffisHe had a quadruple By Pass done on Monday.
He is doing well and they had him up walking yesterday.
He will go to a Rehab place for a few days when
he is released from the hospital on Monday.
The 3 Arlene's
My Mother, Janice Arlene
Me, Gigi Arlene
And my niece, Amelia Arlene
I also have a Great Aunt, Betty Arlene
She has a daughter Becky Arlene
And also several cousins with the name Arlene.
I don't think that any one of us even go by the name
it's just our middle name.
When the Sweetheart and I were on vacation back in May
I called to talk to the oldest GRAND~girl.
I asked her what she wanted me to bring her from Michigan.
She thought about it a minute and said,
"I believe I want some 'Beef Jerky'"
I'm, like, "are you sure"?
She said "yes".
So that is what we brought her along
with a couple of summer dresses.
As you can see I still have that beef jerky.
She doesn't like beef jerky??
I asked her, "then why did you want me to bring you some?"
She didn't know.
She didn't know.
So into the food storage it goes.
This is how the Sweetheart enjoys the beach.

A friend celebrated her 40th birthday last month and this was her cake!

I have never known anyone with the name of Arlene. You must have most of them down south with you! I think it is fun to have a shared family name.
I hope your FIL recovers quickly and well. That sounds like a pretty serious operation!

Glad your FIL is doing well. I will continue to pray for him. We will be buying fresh jerky on our way to Mammoth Lakes, yum! Great way to stay cool at the beach.
Hi Gigi, I pray your FIL continues to do well. Lovely family photos of the "Arlene's." I love the photo of your DH with the umbrella too. That is crazy cute about your GRAND daughter and the beef jerky! As she gets older, that wish list will get bigger I bet!
I've never seen a cake like that BUT I've never had many cakes I did not like!
