Recuperating

By way of Nikon Service and Repair Center, Melville, NY.
Estimated cost of repair, $227.01!
~
That hurt my feelings.
~
The strap came loose from the camera and it
fell from my neck and hit the sidewalk
on the bottom corner where the
battery goes into the camera.
~
It could have been worse, it could have landed
on my lens and busted that but it was spared and is working just fine!
~
Soon as she gets home, I will be sewing that strap together for extra security!
Thanks, Tauna for that little helpful hint.

Well, I was really scared when I saw the title. I was so glad when I panned down a little and saw it was your camera. No offense.
Sorry all the same!

YIKES! I would cry if I dropped my DSLR. So glad your lens is OK. $227? Much cheaper than a replacement. Have a great weekend. Blessings, SusanD

Man, you are probably like a junkie about ready to go into fits or something without that beautiful camera! I'm still saying Harry needs to pull out the old checkbook and get you that D7000. I mean really....YOU are so worth it!

Wow, I am really glad your lens didn't break. I'm totally lusting after that lens.

That is so sad what happened to your camera. Sending well wishes.

Ouch for both the camera and the repair bill! Thank goodness the lens was spared.

Good idea to sew the strap. I'm always tugging on mine to make sure it's secure. My worst fear is having it drop!

Ouch! You might want to see if your insurance carrier has something like a personal valuable property policy. I have one that will cover such kind of damage that is VERY cheap and zero deductible. I think I'll add my camera to it on Monday!

OK that really hurts both hearing you camera fall and the price of repair!

Years ago the hubs and I were in Hawaii hiking across a Lava field and I slipped and my camera hit the ground and shattered. It was only the 3rd day of a week long anniversary trip. I was crushed.

I had to use disposable camera's for the rest of our trip. UGH!!

Camera's we gotta have 'em!

i can no longer shoot in burst mode thanks to a tumble my cammy took too. :( it also doesn't feel as sharp as it used to. i so need to send it in before the weather gets too warm, and it's needed more than ever. $227 eh? i'm hoping mine won't cost most than that.
