Amish #2

I was taking pictures in the late evening and this Amish Buggy was coming towards me so I got out of the truck and took pictures.

I didn't know that the Amish really don't like their pictures made. I learned that from the neighbors when I got back to the lodge.

I watched him turn the corner and then got in the truck and followed him to his farm. I felt like a stalker. But they didn't have a phone to call the police and report me.

He had a very nice farm. If you look right beside the red barn you can see his buggy parked with his little sign on it's bumper.

Then when I was coming back I got behind another one. I'm not sure the proper etiquette for passing but I finally did very slowly.

I'm not sure why the Amish fascinate me but they do and I never tire of looking at them.

I enjoyed the pictures. I believe the Amish are interesting because they live life differently from the norm. A simplier way of life. Sometimes I wish my life was that way.

I have enjoyed your pictures too. I'm not sure If I would have followed the buggy as far as you did especially if I was alone...if I had you to egg me on I probably would have knocked on their door! My bad!

I think the Amish are very fascinating! Several years back, Betsy & Val, Jay & I went back east. We went through Intercourse, PA, other small Amish communities. We went shopping in their stores, ate in their restaurants. Also, one year we drove from Nauvoo to Independence, MO. Went shopping in a small amish community, bought a lap harp with sheet music, Amish bookends (which I love), books, etc. Betsy told me that Lisa was as fascinated with the Amish as I was. I am surprised the man had his buggy door open so that you could see him. Usually, they sit low in the buggy so you cannot see them.
