Barn Charm # 10

Anguilla Plantation's Barn
Glynn County, Georgia

The Anguilla Plantation derived its name from the Sea Island cotton that was believed only to be grown on the islands until successfully grown on the mainland. A double oak alley leads up to the plantation house and other 19th and 20th century buildings. The plantation house dates back to the 1840s and is a large one and a half story, side gable house with wood shingle siding. The house was a stop on the Atlanta, Birmingham and Atlantic Railway at the turn of the 20th century. The plantation is located three miles west of Sterling, Georgia on State Route 32.

A manicured lawn in front of the barn! I love it. I would like to move into it.
I can hear the crickets.
I wish the old barn would could tell a story.

I feel like it is straight out of one of Laura Ingalls Wilder books.

I'm glad to see you posting again, it's been awhile. Your barns are just outrageously beautiful!!! You make me want to actually live in one, and that's something! The dessert below looks fabulously decadent! Yum!! Made with a mom's love.

Great pic. Love it.

I passed a great barn when I was in Calgary last weekend and could have kicked myself that I didn't stop to take a pic.

Don't you just want to climb up to the second story and look out that door on the top? Very cool.

Once again, awesome. I love the moss hanging from the trees and OH WOW all that green.
I'd love to see a plantation.
I could totally hold a potatoe in my hand and say "I'll never go hungry again".

WOW! The vibrant greens against the dark shaded textures of the unpainted wood is awesome. What a fine shot. It’s wonderful.
