These type turtles are protected by law and should not be bothered in any way. One day a friend,who has many years of Scouting experiencce, and and I were going through the forest on our way to Orlando Temple and passed a turtle in the middle of the highway. I asked him if we should stop and move him off the road and he said 'no,that they were protected by law and they would be gone in a matter of time if they didn't get squashed before hand.'
So perhaps your visitor made his way out of your yard, maybe to your garden.!!
Oh but what a handsome guy! I have never seen one just out and about like that! I have you on mu blog list now..thought I did already but must have been following only! So now you can't get rid of me LOL Come say hi :D (Today is a great day!)
Don't think I'e seen such a big fellow since I was a little girl. What with the crossing of roads & such. It's my hope & prayer that he continues in safety.

He might not have been great company but he sure is cute. I love turtles.
sometimes when they're quiet like that, they are good listeners!
