A Black Friday Shopper Was Born

I was surprised when I got this picture from Christon
around midnight at the beginning of Black Friday shopping.
I didn't know Shelby was going with her mom.

She said Shelby was loving the craziness of
 all the shoppers.
She said, "Mom, this is just AWESOME!"

Christon tried several times to take Shelby
back home but she wasn't having any of that.
She was having to much fun!
Of course I went to bed and the next morning
I find this cute picture!

Taken on the way home at 4:30 A.M.
She was a real trooper and had the best time!

P.S. She is holding the $20.00 scooters
they picked up for me at Target.
What?
I need toys here at my house too!
Hope you found some good deals also!

I've Been Published!

I took that picture of my cousin friend's, Thanksgiving Turkey!
She called one morning back in September
and wanted to know if I had time to come
take a picture of her Turkey.
Well, that was a first!
A photo shoot for a Turkey!
I felt honored!
 See!! My picture, her turkey!
She writes a little article in the Golden Isle Magazine,
(a local free to the public magazine),
about her Farm life or maybe her garden.
Any way, she was writing an article
this time on her first time ever raising her
own Thanksgiving Turkey.
She wanted to be able to put an actual picture of it
in the magazine instead of the usual google image
the editor puts in.
A face only a mother could love!
She called the other day to tell me that the
Nov/Dec Magazine was out and they used my picture!
She was excited but wanted to say she was sorry that
they didn't give me the credit for having taken the picture.
I told her it was okay maybe next time.
She knows I took it and I know I took
it and now you know I took it and that makes me happy!
That is my Turkey Story and I'm sticking to it!
It's not even that great a picture but still, they used it :)

Barn Charm #32

Found this Barn on the way to High Falls, GA. On High Falls Road.
It's really plain.
I guess I need to start learning how to use textures :)

I don't live in a Rural area and finding barns is getting harder.
Time for a road trip in search of barns.

An Email

My Aunt sent me this and I thought it was sweet.
An eye witness account from New York
City
, on a cold day in December,
some years ago: A little boy,
about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the
roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering
With cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said,
'My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!'

'I was asking God to give me a pair of
shoes,'was the boy's reply.

The lady took him by the hand, went into
the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks
for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water
and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back
part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed
his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with
the socks.. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him
a pair of shoes..

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks
and gave them to him.. She patted him on the head and said, 'No
doubt, you will be more comfortable now..'

As she turned to go, the astonished kid
caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears
in his eyes, asked her.
'Are you God's wife?'

Mellow Yellow Monday

I was a guest bystander with my camera
Saturday at the wedding of the Sweetheart's, first cousin,
Donald's son.
It was a beautiful day for a wedding and we enjoyed attending.

Handmade yellow and purple flowers on each cupcake.
The cupcake tree instead of a huge wedding cake.
I'm usually not as fond of cupcakes as I am of wedding cake
but this is the exception!
These were the bomb!!
Best cupcake I've ever eaten :)

The Groom, Randy's first marriage.

The lovely bride, Marie and her parents.

The kiss and the giving away their daughter.

This is a beautiful shot of Donald and Christine's back yard
over looking the pond. My boys have caught many a good fish
in that pond. And plenty of fond memories.

 The "I Do" kiss!

 Mr. and Mrs. Randy Barlow.

The parents of the groom, Christine and Donald Barlow.

My MIL, Donald, another first Cousin Farrel,
Sue, the Sweetheart's oldest sister and The Sweetheart!
Besides me, this is the only family that was there on Donald's side.
We were happy we could be there for the fun.
Okay, let me just say that no "good", southern wedding reception leaves out the fresh wild Georgia Shrimp and I must say these were some of the best I've ever eaten. I bet there was the best shrimp salad on Sunday with the leftovers!

All the food that I tasted was just wonderful.
Another favorite was the blue crab mushroom caps!

The spinach dip also seems like a must have!
Christine, the mother of the Groom did all the food
with the help of some wonderful friends.
It was wonderful as always.

 Let the dancing begin!

The Bride's friends from work did a little entertaining and it was really cute.

 The first dance.
Donald was telling us that they took dance lessons
so that they could have a wonderful first dance.

They did an awesome job all the way to the dip!

Everyone had a great time!
Wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon and evening
and not have the stress of being the wedding photographer!
