This simple little thing is called a 'French Spatula' and besides my Kitchen aid mixer, this is my favorite kitchen tool, accessory or what ever you may want to call it.
It is very thin.
See what's left in the bowl when you just scrape it with a spoon.
Hold it like this and scrape the sides all the way around and back up to the top. You can almost do this in one swipe.
And Wa-La!
Nothing wasted!
I love this little tool.
And if you'll look at the picture just above this one. You will see right by my thumb that I've used this so much that it has a crack in it. I need a new one and so my search is on. I've looked at Wal-Mart, Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond and even searched the web. I can find all kinds of other Spatulas but not one like this. They aren't very costly. The first one I bought 30 years ago was only $.99. So if you come across one of these let me know where you found it. Buy one and use it. I think it is great!

I use to have one of those and it went down with the ship. I forgot all about it. I think I got mine in the mail from Fingerhut. I'll look around for you and see if I can't scare one up.
Looked in the back of the kitchen utensils drawer and Wa-la I find a French spatula - which we never use. I don't know how old it is but it looks brand-new. It came from Cooking Clubs of America, when I don't know????
We are headed out for Orange Park for Papa's dental appt. already got it in an envelope, soooo consider it in the mail - we go by three P.O.s on the way....
Hugs, etc., mama
NO WAY?!? You mean you had one right there in your kitchen? And you are mailing it today? Love it and love you and THANK YOU!
That is great you are getting one. If you ever find one, let me know, I want one of those puppies.
I shall now laugh in the face of anyone who says blogging is a waste of time. I shall be keeping my eyes open for one of those. Very handy.
Kudos to you for finding a replacement within two comments.
Your Mom is correct, I droped it in the P.O. in Orange Park this afternoon and it's on the way, may be there in tomorrows mail.
Love,
Papa
What a handy tool! I need one of those. :)
What a wonderful tool!
And to your most recent post....I saw a comment left on a site that blogger is having some issues where public followers unknowingly and suddenly became anonymous...so they wouldn't show up as following your blog anymore. Quite a few people "lost" some followers yesterday...love your blog...your content is always wonderful!!
This is one of my all-time favorite tools, too. I had one that I wore out completely and it took a few years for me to find another. Lesson learned: Stock up!
