Presidents Day

Just precious when they are sleeping!
I brought big Anna home with me from Kingsland, Sunday afternoon, after Stake Conference. (Shelby has taken to calling her Big Anna because there is a girl in her class named Anna and this is the way she distinguishes them.)
Harry and Anna then went and got Shelby to spend the night with us. Reagan was not happy about her 'Bella' being gone. Next time she'll have to spend the night too.
Monday morning after breakfast we went to fly kites on the beach. The day's forecast was to be Sunny and high of 65*. We got to the beach and it was cloudy and 55*.

Soon as we get the kite in the air the sky changed to this color and no more sun. Just cold wind.

I show you this picture so you can see how the wind was blowing Shelby's ponytails? And it was COLD. We did not last an hour.
That's right Rea, zip your jacket up!

After leaving the beach we decided to feed the birds with the $1.00 loaf of old bread that we got last week to feed birds but never got around to doing. That was a big hit but the birds got very aggressive before we got through. Shelby was up under my arm trying to get away from them.

Soon as that was over we went and had lunch and went to lunch at Chic-Fil-A and then to Home Depot for gardening supplies.

My very nice brother in law drove 30 miles from Kingsland.

He brought his trusty tiller. I didn't say rusty tiller, because it isn't.

To do this to my yard! He got my garden started for me.
See the picture above this one.
The black bucket right behind the tiller.
That is his left over seed potatoes that he gave me.
It's time to plant potatoes, onions and carrots if you are going to plant them. Aunt Patsy and Uncle Sam planted theirs last week. I'm going to try and stay up with them and I'm already a week behind. But it'll just have to be OKAY!

That was not all of the day. As soon as Anthony, Carla, Jami and big Anna left we went to Sears and Harry bought a new lawn mower. Whoo hoo! Last years model at a great discount. So we did our part to help the economy to grow.

Do you recon that was a fun filled day or what?

Ah, kite flying. Haven't done that for years. Izzy keeps asking to go kite flying like in the movie 'Mary Poppins' - must do something about that!

Looks like you are going to have a really nice garden. Our little garden plot is tiny, but still lots of fun. :) I just don't know how we are going to keep the new puppy out of it.
