In fact, true confession, I cannot even go in the "Reptile House" at the zoo - it just creeps me out. So I send my kids in their alone - Great mom huh? Ha Ha

OK, now I have the shivers! Ick!
She probably LOVES getting that kind of reaction out of people.
NOT ME.

Last night I had a dream about spiders....that is my own personal imaginings of hell.....(I gotta start living better)
I couldn't get away from them. Snakes are a VERY close second.

We had snakes crawling in and out of the rock foundation in our 100 year old rental house. My husband ran to get a shovel so he could pick them up and throw them over the fence in to the field. By the time he had retrieved the shovel, I had thrown all 10 of them over the fence with my bare hands! However, I didn't let them crawl on me! (shudder)

I think I woould have been able to handle the snake. That parrot in the one picture, on the other hand would have me screaming. I am totally terrified of birds.

It is beautiful in its coloring though!

can't imagine people can be passionate about this. When I was a teenager, I loved handling snakes my Dad caught in the fish traps. Now my nieces and nephews in Australia have pet snakes.

I don't mind snakes, well you know, as long as their not lethal.

Funny story, actually--my dad says when I was little, like three or something--a couple of his army buddies came up to me with a little garden snake and tried to scare me with it, instead I just tried to hold it.

I've never had any problem with snakes and have handled a few. My hubby came home tonight and told me about a baby rattle snake on the floor of the shop where he works. Fortunately for the snake he picked it up on a shovel and took it outside. When he described the 'baby rattle snake' it turned out to be a common garter snake, very harmless.
