They bought this property from an Amish family and turned it into the hunting lodge. The front white house is where Doug and Becky Bush live and is also where we ate our meals. The white building behind the big house is where our room was. The red building use to be a barn and was turned into the TV rec room. They had to put in the wiring for electricity and plumbing for water and bathing.
I was on the other side of the big house on the grounds looking around.
When I heard him coming up the road I ran and got my camera. This is the road out in front of the lodge.

He went right on up the hill to his house. I had to get in the truck and drive up to see what it looked like.
It was a very nice home.
When the hunters don't want their deer meat, they only want their heads and horns for mounting, they give the meat to this Amish family. They except it gladly.
I just wish I could go in and look at their home. I guess I'm noisy like that.

Vert interesting and beautiful pictures of the country up there.
Why didn't you ask for a ride in the buggy?
Love,
Papa
You and I should never go to Amish country together we'd get in so much trouble because like you, I am completely fascinated with Amish people. I would want to get up close and personal and ask way too many questions.
i love the amish people and admire their way of living off of the land. They are very humble people. Joe's grandpa actually bought a buggy off of them and it has the most intricate work on it that it is amazing that it was all done by hand. Very pretty country up there!
Maybe we should create a reality show called "Partying like the Amish" or "Livin' the Amish life" and have people get voted off if they can't cut it without their cell phones and laptops.
When I worked in the Crossroads mall 20 yrs ago, a couple came in and asked me where all the Mormons were. I told them I was and they looked shocked. They asked if they could take my picture, with out my hat. ( back in the day of white caps and big bows in the back) They thought I had horns under there!!!! Folks are funny. A lot of folks mix us Mo's with the Amish in Salt Lake.
