This is my cute little V/T, Amelia.
She was teaching us how to make
Yams and Apples at 'Supper at Seven' last month.
They are really yummy and worth trying if you like yams.
Good Job! Amelia, I loved them.
Thanks for teaching us something new.
Yams and Apples
6 pounds yams (3-4)
4 apples
1 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups hot water
1/4 pound butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Parboil, peel and slice or dice the yams into 1/2 inch sized pieces. While yams are boiling, peel and slice or dice apples into 3/4 inch sized pieces. Combine all other ingredients in saucepan and cook over medium heat until thick; do not boil. Combine all ingredients in a 9 x 11 baking dish. Bake at 325* for 45-55 minutes; 30 minutes if yams are well cooked.

I got this recipe a few weeks ago from my Aunt Shelia. She said it came from the 'Children's Friend Magazine' years ago. I cooked them Sunday morning for my Sunday school class. They loved them! They were really quick and easy.

Gigi both of these sounds so good but I am leaning toward the Cinnamon Biscuits for breakfast this weekend.
I missed you! What a fun trip. I love Nauvoo. We get back there pretty often. In fact, my parents are the Pageant presidents so they have a house on the banks of the Missippi and they spend half the year there.
I hope you are getting caught up. Would you believe I'm leaving again in a few hours? I'm heading to SL for the Savior of the World at the Conference Center and to see the lights on temple square. I have to be back tomorrow night for Sailor's nutcracker practice and my school board meeting, so we'll be cutting it close! I hope all is well with you and your family. I'm so glad you're back. Come on down this way sometime!
Love the taters and biscuits!
Those biscuits look yummy!!!
Twilight was good-i thought, I wanted it to keep going!
