Money Pit

It was time to take the man helping to rebuild
the Sweetheart's truck some more money.
He has been working on this 54 Chevy for 3 years now.
The Sweetheart can no longer work on it himself.
This was the first time the GRAND~girls had ever seen
Pop Pop's truck. They loved it and were all over it!

All I asked was for them to stand beside it and
let me take their picture and that is when the
modeling began.

They were posing and smiling

And grinning!

They will probably be teenagers by the time it is ever finished!

Cracked Dry Feet

T wrote this post yesterday about a new product that she had tried.
You can only buy it from Walgreen's or on line from Carmex.

I bought some yesterday and used it last night.

It was very cooling and non-greasy and smelled good too.

I hope it works.

I also bought this yesterday.
You know how the little sales clerk talks you
into it as you try and pay out.
I'll give it a try and let ya know what I think.
Try and have a great weekend.
Be safe.

Mid~Week~Blues

The night that the Sweetheart got sick,
I had attended a wedding for my dear friend's only daughter, Kristie.

I am so glad I took my camera.

I loved the color of Beth's dress.

And it is my Mid~Week~Blues photo.

Kristie was a beautiful bride and it was a perfect day for a wedding.

This picture makes me happy.

That cute Kristie was waving at me.

Her mom and aunt Cathie were grinning at me too.

The little baby in green is Kristie's baby, Jay.

After the wedding and before the reception got going good

I had the privilege of taking baby Jay home and putting him to bed.

Beth's 85 year old dad also rode home with me.

His years of partying are sort of over, (grin).

I was trying to not disturb the wedding photographer

but I did stand way behind him and snapped a few of my own pictures.

They were just so dang cute.

This was their first dance.

And this was her daddy daughter dance.

I just loved all their smiles.

A sad note: her husband Jonathan broke his foot on their honeymoon in Key West.

He is in surgery today having it repaired.

What a way to start off their marriage and the for better and for worse part, :(

Ruby Tuesday

Ellen, I saw these red boots and I thought of you.

I love it, they were the cutest little child's boots.

This is my first time joining Ruby Tuesday Photo shoot.

To join the fun go here and check out other Ruby Tuesday.

I Can't Think

I really seem to be in a fog these days.
I must be just still trying to catch up from all the drama last week.
Things are good though.
The Sweetheart will take his last dose of antibiotics
tomorrow morning at the hospital.
After his visit there this morning I took him to work.
He was glad to get out of my house.
I'm not so sure he'll stay very long but even a little bit will be nice.
He is getting stronger each day.
We had a very peaceful healing weekend.
The gorgeous fall weather could have not been more perfect.
Grateful for all of God's many blessings and miracles.
Hope you all are enjoying your fall.
Have a blessed week.

I Sprang Him

Not from the Big House!
But from the hospital!
7:30 P.M.

We got away as fast as we could
soon as they wheeled him out the door.
I layed rubber in the parking lot.
Then I took the long way home so we could see
the huge beautiful full moon.
Did yall see it tonight?
Gorgeous!
He has to go back for the next 4 days to get his
antibiotic intravenously.
Not a bad plea bargin for freedom, huh?

Reading To Dogs

Reagan loves to read to Bentley.

Bentley likes the chewing on the book better than her reading.

But the two of them spell t.r.o.u.b.l.e.
I really just wanted yall to see how big Bentley is getting.
He is over 60 pounds and is 10 months old.
They are crazy for each other but he can get a little rough still.
Most of the time he thinks he is a dachshund.
He finally has a deep loud scary bark and that
is the real reason we got him, we wanted a guard dog.
He's a good one.

Update Wednesday Morning

2:00 P.M. afternoon update:
We've been moved down the hall to PCCU and things continue to improve :)
Woo hoo!
He didn't sleep so well last night.
He had a lovely dinner of hospital food, fish and veggies that just didn't settle well.
He got something for nausea when I came in
this morning and he has slept all day, which is wonderful!
All of his labs and test look good and he is steadily improving.
They are looking for a room to move him into and get him out of CCU.

I hope when he wakes he'll feel better.
He is one blessed man and oh, how I love him to pieces.
I thought is funny how the nurse called him "a Sweetheart of a patient."
She didn't even know that I call him Sweetheart :)
We have felt your warm thoughts and prayers.
We love you and we thank you so much.

Have you ever been so tired that your glasses hurt your face?

That is how tired I was last night along with a head ache.

Sort of reminded me of wearing a headband that was to tight.

Anyway, I slept well and was ready to face the day this morning.

Hope you are all enjoying a beautiful day.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Hey Yall

Things continue to improve and they may
be able to move him out of CCU tomorrow and on to the regular floor.
The GRAND-girls are having a fit that they can't see Pop Pop!
We have been greatly blessed!
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.
Hope you are all having a beautiful FALL week.

E-coli

The Sweetheart is doing much better this evening and some of the cultures are back and show that he has E-coli. I guessed that is what caused the Urinary Track and bladder infections. He is starting to respond to the antibiotics. I came home tonight I haven't slept in two nights. He is still in CCU and has one on one nurse care. I love his nurses! The day and night nurse have been just awesome, although the Sweetheart is and awesome patient as well. Hopefully he will continue to improve. We sure have felt the thoughts and prayers and warm wishes.
They are very much appreciated.
Hugs to all of you :)

Update

They moved Harry to CCU at 5:00 am this morning and he is getting great care. He is Septic, which is infection in the blood. He is stable right now and waiting for a central line to be put in so he can get his meds that way. He is finally able to recognize me and the boys. He's still feeling pretty bad but I have faith that the Lord will carry him through yet another trail.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Prayers

The Sweetheart started running a high fever last night.
He went in to the hospital this afternoon.
They think he has a UTI or bladder infection.
I always get so scared because of the kidney that I gave him 5 years ago.
Things seem worse because of him being a Transplant Patient.
Please keep him in your prayers.
Thanks, love yall.
I'll try and update in the morning.

Do You Smoke Your Meat?

This is the first time I've ever seen a smoke house in action!

a

Pretty cool don't ya think?

No one told me I could open the door and look in

but I'm curious like that. I was nervous that I was gonna get caught.

The Sweetheart sure wanted me to grab him some.

But he wasn't the one that felt that heat when I opened that door.

I'm sure it was to hot to grab!

I was just happy to snap a picture!

Who cares about eating the meat?

These 3 pictures

Go with the post below.

Blogger has been giving me a fit today.

Cinnamon Bread and Cheetos

We spent the weekend at my Crenshaw family reunion

in the cabins at Indian Springs State Park, GA.

Monday morning as we were getting ready to leave the cabin I went to put something in the truck and came face to face with this deer.

We just had a stare down.

I went ahead to the truck and he didn't run off he just kept looking for food.

I went back in and told the girls to come quick and look.

I was just sure that they would scare him off but nothing seem to bother the deer.

It wouldn't do until they got their daddy outa the bed and Pop Pop to come see too.

As we are standing their quietly Shelby looks up at me and says,

"This is why we come here."

I say, "why"?

She says, "to watch the deer."

We had been there all weekend and this was the first deer

we had seen. We usually see them every where.

They wanted to feed the deer something.

The crazy Sweetheart told them that they would eat their

cinnamon toast and Cheetos's.

They of course believe them.

I step out again just in time to see them run up to the top of

the drive to put down the bread and Cheetos.

I just thought it was so cute in their night clothes.

Of course, they never did eat the food the girls left for them

but we did watch two different deer for about 20 minutes.

So sweet in the peaceful morning hours to watch the girls and enjoy the beauties of nature.

Miracles

Psalms 136:1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Psalms 92:1 We should give thanks to the Lord for all things. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord

Ephesians 5: 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God.

I watched with the rest of the world and witnessed the miracles, Amazing!

I'm Only Missing Tomatoes

A visit to the Atlanta Farmers Market yielded

a 25 pound bag of sweet onions- $8.00

1 1/2 bushels of bell peppers $14.00.

Lots of other things too.

But the one thing I didn't get were the tomatoes

that I need to make salsa.

Hope to get them in the next few weeks from

Waycross, GA. You can pick a 5 gallon bucket

full for $6.00!

I am going to go ahead and chop the onions and

the bell peppers so that when I do get the tomatoes

it won't take that long to make the salsa.

My goal is to have more salsa than Tauna!

I'm sure she didn't know it was a competition.

Just kidding, Tauna.

I love the salsa I made this summer for the first time

and my goal is to have 365 jars of it so

that I have a jar a day for the next year.

Just kidding on that thought too!

I do tend to go a little over board when I like certain things

but I have already eaten all the salsa I put up in July.

Wonder what would have been in them.

Do you know or have any ideas?

Tasty Tuesday

My Daddy makes better Banana Pudding than your Daddy!!
And he enjoys making it and takes great care in making it so perfect.
I finally took the time to take some pictures of him making
it for our Crenshaw Family Reunion this past weekend.
See that cute smile, he was grinning at me for taking his picture.
He's having some health problems and is having some tests run today
could you please keep him in your prayers?
Thanks.

This is an email he sent us a few weeks ago about the said Banana Pudding:
Dear ones,
Last night I went to General Priesthood meeting at the Stake Center. Our Stake President, Gene Patch, was making his way around the chapel greeting and shaking hands with all the brethren, when he got to the Palatka bunch he came down the row shaking hands and when he got to me he said, "Hi Bro.Crenshaw, oh by the way, a few days ago, Elder Gonzales of the Seventy was in our home for dinner and my wife fix your recipe for your banana pudding and it was delicious and Elder Gonzales said so too. He continued and said to tell Bro. Crenshaw it was great. So we gave you the credit for the recipe."

Last year when we had Ward Conference and dinner afterwards I fix two pudding so most would have some. Well, the Stake Presidency and wives were there and they got some of my banana pudding and they told me the really liked it. Around the first of the this year President Patch and Sister Patch was here for a Scout Court honor. I spoke to them she ask if I would give her my recipe for my banana pudding and I said if you'll give me your e-mail I'll send it to you. So she did and then I did.

Didn't hear anymore about it until last night when he told me the above information. It tickled me and I laughed and laughed. What a moment, just had to share that with y'all.

Y'all be good.
Keep the Faith,
I love you all,
Papa, Billy

I just thought that was so sweet and wanted to share it with yall along with the recipe again!

Papa's Banana Pudding

Ingredients:

4-6 ripe bananas, mellow, not mushy

1 box of vanilla wafers

small can 8 oz of crushed pineapple

2 cups of cold milk, skimmed

1 large box INSTANT VANILLA pudding mix

1 tub of cool whip topping

Directions:

Make sure cool whip topping is thoroughly thawed. Place cut up bananas and wafers in layers in serving bowl. Save about 12-15 wafers and crumbs to decorate the topping. Mix together the crushed pineapple and its juice, 2 cups of cold milk and slowly stir in the instant vanilla mix, remember the box calls for 3 cups of milk but you are substituting 8 oz of pineapple & juice for one cup of milk. Then shake or beat with electric beater as directed on package, at least one and a half minutes, then pour evenly over the wafers and bananas. When the liquid has settled, spread the topping over the mixture. Add the saved wafers and add them in your own design and sprinkle on the crumbs. Best when chilled a few hours or over night in the fridge. Enjoy the taste and the compliments. Guaranteed!

Try it you'll like it, I promise!

Music

"MUSIC" (Singing, Dancing, Playing, Instruments, iPods, Concerts,...)
I can't take any credit for these pictures.
They all came from Echo's blog.
But it does have to do with music and
with one of my favorite singers, Michael Buble'

These cousins of mine went to see Michael Buble two years ago.

They had no idea that I loved him so much until after they had already gotten tickets.

When they got to the concert there was an empty seat right beside them all night that I could have sat in and to prove it they took a picture of what could have been my seat.

Oh, boo hoo!

But I let them know that if they ever went again they had better take me with them!!
And they did!!!

And he was Yummy!!

And he so reminds me of the old crooners of the 50's and the 60's.

We saw his Crazy Love tour.

And I had a blast with the cousins!

It was very nice of them to take the old lady with them.

Thank you again, ladies.

And at the last minute they were wishing that we could have taken their SIL, Courtney with us too. She would have loved it!

And there was even an empty seat she could have sat in!!

Next time Courtney, next time!
