This is the first time I've ever seen a smoke house in action!

No one told me I could open the door and look in
but I'm curious like that. I was nervous that I was gonna get caught.
The Sweetheart sure wanted me to grab him some.
But he wasn't the one that felt that heat when I opened that door.
I'm sure it was to hot to grab!
I was just happy to snap a picture!
Who cares about eating the meat?

Cool pic Gigi! John tells a story of an aunt that owned a plantation in VA when he was a boy. She had a smokehouse and treated him to smoked ham. From that year on, she always sent him a smoked ham for Christmas cause that's what he asked for!!!!!!
UnkSam here trying once again to leave a comment about your super BLOG. Smokehouse meat is one of the great ways to get good hams and sausage. I used to fix the kids country ham and gravy and biscuits for breakfast when they were growing up. Enjoyed seeing y'all last week at the "C" Reunion.

I have to admit I never even have thought about it. You read about how they used to smoke meat in the old days but very cool to see a REAL Smoke house. I bet it will taste extra yummy too - I am with you hubby. I may have wanted to grab some also!
I've never smoked meat. But I have eaten smoked meat. So yummy!

I was in an amusement park here in Utah -- not long ago.. and they had a smokehouse from Pioneer days. It was sooo cool.. and I could STILL smell the smoked meat 100+ years later....
aWeSoMe!!! girl you've got guts too. i'm the follow the rules kinda girl, even the rules that i don't know are rules, but i assume they must be rules kinda girl. i'd have probably stopped with an "oh that's nice" at the exterior picture i'd gotten and been on my merry way, lol! i love how curious you are and i'm grateful, cause now i can say i know what the guts of a smokehouse really look like! love ya oodles like that!!!
