Never Saw It Coming

Harry and I were talking last night
and I asked him,
"Don't you think you've lost a little weight?"
I mean, you know hospital food and everything.
He holds his leg up and says,
"yeah, I'd say 10 or 15 lbs."
He got me!
I never saw that one coming
I hope yall aren't offended by that,
you just have to know Harry and his
sense of humor. It gets him through
almost everything and it hasn't stopped
with the loss of his foot.
Thank goodness!

Catching Up

Shelby couldn't wait to read Pop Pop a book. Soon as he sat down she was in his lap. Christon brought her over as soon as she got out of dance. When we went up to check Harry out of the hospital, Shelby said "let me see your foot." He told her he didn't have one and held up his nub and she started laughing and he started laughing at her laughing at him. They were so funny with each other. Then she asked him when he was going to get a new one? He told her in a few months. She was like, "Okay, can I have your balloons?"
Oh, to be like little children so excepting of things.
Christon then went and got Reagan and brought her to see Pop Pop. I couldn't get her to sit on his lap to so I could get a picture. She was just all over every where and into everything. I'll catch her today.

Look Who's Home!!

We were pulling away from the hospital today at 3:30 and had to have Shelby to dancing at 3:45, it's only 5 minutes away. We made it and changed her into her dancing clothes and she was on time! Reagan was with her gamma. This pictures was taken a few minutes ago and he hadn't even come in the house yet. But he's HOME again!

Msa. Manda and Prudy!

My squash sharing, tomato picking friend, baked me some banana bread that was out of this world. I broke my fast with a big hunk of it on Sunday. It was so moist and wonderful. There is only a small piece left. Shame on me! If you like banana bread this one is great. Click here if you want the recipe. Thank you, Msa Manda!

On a different note, Prudy posted a recipe yesterday on her blog for Chocolate Malted Whopper Cookies using Reese's Peanut Butter Whoppers! Did you know that there was such a thing? Peanut Butter Whoppers!?! I excused myself from the husbands bedside and went to Wal-mart and bought me some, right then and there! I'll make that recipe soon, just you wait and see. Reese's Peanut butter cups are most favorite candy ever.

Lost

Have you ever been lost in a parking lot? I've come and gone so much from the hospital in the past week, that last night when I was leaving I forgot where I parked. I wandered around for just a few minutes before I realized that I DIDN'T PARK! I used valet parking.

Calming the Sea

Jesus and His disciples boarded a ship to cross the Sea of Galilee. As they were sailing, Jesus fell asleep and a great storm arose. The wind blew and waves covered the ship. Jesus' disciples thought they were going to be killed, so they awoke Jesus and cried, "Master, carest thou not that we perish?"
Jesus said, "Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?"
(Matthew 8:26; see also Mark 4:39).
"[Then] he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said
unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased,
and there was a great calm"
When the storm ceased, the disciples were
amazed and said, "What manner of man is this,
that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
This afternoon, I feel the calmness of the sea!
Thank you all for your fasts and prayers.
We love you all,
giig and harry

Just In Case

Just in case you came here checking, Harry has been moved out of CCU and put back onto the regular floor! Things are much better and are continuing to get better. The Antibiotics are working, thank goodness. He had a very peaceful quiet day. What wonderful blessings and miracles we've received, again! Thanks for your continued prayers.
Love,
Gigi and Harry

Update Saturday Morning

Good Saturday Morning, talked to Harry's nurse and she said that he had a pretty good nights sleep and now that his BP is coming up and is a tad high, it shows that he is out of the rick for low pressure and time to get him back on his regular meds. She said that his blood work is looking good, meaning that the antibiotics are covering the infection!! It's working so far! I just hope that it can keep going this way and that the antibiotics don't stop working until they have killed all those ugly little infectious bugs. It won't be long before they will move him out of CCU and back out onto the regular floor. Dr. Brooks, the orthopedic surgeon will come by on Sunday and unwrap his amputation site and give it a look for the first time. Hope that turns out good too!

Woo Hoo! I'm so excited for his continued improvements. I know that "those the Lord loves, he tries" and Harry is very loved. I am so grateful for all the Lord's blessings, miracles and tender mercies. The only thing we need is continued prayers and if you would like to remember him in your fasts this weekend, that would be very much appreciated.

I love you all and am so grateful to have so many friends and family with such great faith. God Bless you all.
Gigi and Harry

My Famous Peaunt Butter Cookies

My Famous Peanut Butter Cookies

2 eggs
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup Crunchy Peanut Butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Cream the first 6 ingredients together and then add the others. Criss/cross with a fork and sprinkle with sugar and bake at 350* for 12-15 minutes depending on your oven. Do not over cook!
They aren't really "famous" I just threw that in there 'cause it sounded good! I don't know who to give the credit to for this recipe. It's been in my recipe box since college. I know that way back then I used a Palatka Ward recipe book, made up from the Sisters in the Ward. So this could easily be a recipe from that old book. Any way it has served me well for over 30 years! They are all most never fail, unless you burn them! I took this platter full to Dr. Brooks office last Friday when Harry went for his check up. Of course they loved them.

Puppy In My Pocket

When I have the girls the only TV I let them watch is PBS or Georgia Public Broadcasting. But Friday afternoon Shelby was watching me do a little sewing and Reagan was taking a nap. For some reason, I don't remember why, Shelby was watching Sponge Bob on Nickelodeon. It seemed like that every 5 minutes there was a commercial for some "new have to have toy." I wasn't paying a lot of attention but she call me on this one. A commercial came on and these girls were singing about this "puppy in my pocket," Shelby says, "look Gigi, I want one of those!" and I said, "you do? I wonder where we could get it?" (all along thinking she was going to say "Walmart") and she says, "I don't know, maybe 'dot-com!" they might have it!"

How funny is that? Dot com?

Oh gracious! That's when you know maybe they watch to much TV!
