42 in a 25

10:AM Saturday Morning.
Parkwood in front of the hospital.
Not another car in sight.
Almost to Hwy. 17
Officer turns off 17
Heading towards me.
I think nothing of it.
My perifial vision sees him flip around.
I look in my rear view mirror
and to my surprise, his lights are
on and he's pulling me over.
I pull over. Surprisingly
enough the GRAND~girls in the
back seat are calm.
Hey, I'm calm. I haven't done
anything so I'm clueless.
I dig out my licence and get
ready to hand it to him.
When he walks up to the window
he asks me if I know why he
pulled me over?
"Um, no sir?"
"You were speeding.
You were doing 42 in a 25."
"Where are you going in such a hurry this morning?"
"I wasn't in a hurry, I didn't think."
A 2 year old voice in the back seat
hollers, "hey!"
The officer smiles really big and
says, "hey" back to her.
I tell him we are going two more
blocks to a birthday party at
Katy's Kastle.
He says, "well slow it down for
me and y'all have a good day."
I really think it was that 2 year
old voice that saved me a big fat ticket.
So if you like to speed,
get yourself a 2 year old to ride
around in your back seat
It might just save you some money.
Big family cousin party was fun good times!

With a two year old the officer knew you had to be distracted ;-)

What a beautiful cake!

I almost spit coffee all over my screen when I read this. Thank goodness your grandgirls aren't shy! I hope you gave her a great big piece of cake for saving you from a great big ticket, Speedy Gonzales! LOL!!!!

I usually just flash the officer when this happens. Totally works.

The cake is adorable!

I am so calling the Marine today to tell him I need a grandbaby to help me get out of tickets.

Had a great weekend filled with friends, food and fellowhip.

that policeman didn't give you a ticket because you are so pretty! I'm sure the grandbabies didn't hurt either but a man can never pass up a good looking lady :) Glad you didn't get a ticket!!

hahahahaha! Y-A-Y for the Grand-girls. I'm thinkin there is this invention on newer model cars called a speed-o-meter. Maybe you should get one. hahahaha! Blessings, SusanD

That always happens doesn't it.

I hate that feeling I get in the pit of my stomach when I see those flashing lights behind me! My Dad accused me of having a lead foot when I was 16. Almost 40 years later, I still have that same foot.

The cake is beautiful! Hope you had fun at all the parties.

Lucky you, and you are blessed by having a two year old grandgirl that doesn't mind speaking up. Maybe she didn't want to be late for the party.

Love you all,
Papa

OH, baby! You are soooooo lucky!
Good idea to have the 2 year old. I'll keep that in mind for the next felony I commit!

Close call for sure!

That cake looks and sounds so good.

We were blessed with rain over the weekend and it sounded marvelous on the roof.

Ive gotta go with Jennifer on this one - cause I know how lucky you are with the road patrol. We were coming back from somewhere with you when that heavy foot got you pulled over and when the officer got up to the window - either your beauty or your guardian angel put a whammy on that law man and you got a warning that time too and I'm sure it wasn't because I was in the car (o;!!! A cute little grandbaby was just "icing on your cake" that time...

Wondering what would happen if they recorded the # of warnings you have received and could call in your tag number for that fact??? (o; Just wondering ;o) ???

oxoxoxox, mama

While we were in UT, Ben got pulled over for speeding and while the officer was checking out our license, Max asks from the backseat, "Dad, are you going to jail?" Of course, we reassured him that all would be well. Luckily we got off with a warning, but we had little robocop in the backseat telling daddy to, "Slow Down!" the rest of the ride.

ROFLMAO!!! Thats priceless, I don't think keeping a 2 year old in my truck would look too good if I got pulled over..:-)
