He and Mama were taking the Royal Nephews to the beach after our dinner.
The cake was going with him and since the temperatures have been close to 100* I didn't want a cake with icing that would melt.
So I went with Pound cake.
Why I didn't use my own wonderful recipe I have no idea.
It was on the dry side.
Paul’s Sour Cream Pound Cake
But I'm giving you mine instead, It is much better. There are very small differences, but those differences make all the difference in the world.

You always post the most delicious recipes!
Your cake recipe is similar to one I use. Which is good.
I've learned that you never try a new recipe for a special occasion. Frank tried Miss Paula's dressing recipe at a Thanksgiving dinner. It was not good at all. Of course it is a time my Mama remembers too well :-)
Thanks so much for the recipe. It sounds delicious!
How fun. Sour cream always makes things taste so moist and good. I love it in muffins. This sounds so good.
That goes to prove that just because someone is well known and has her face on magazines, doesn't mean her recipes are better than our own! Your recipe sounds good.

I love pound cake --but for every bite I take, SEVERAL POUNDS TAKE LODGING somewhere on my body. crap
Copied yours to my notepad. I love pound cake especially with fresh strawberries and whip cream.
I tried a couple of Paula Deen's cake and none of them came out good. I'm glad you published yours! Your cakes are always winners! I missed you!
Looks like your Papa had a wonderful birthday!
I am shocked about so many folks saying Paula's cakes aren't good. I haven't tried any but I thought with all the butter she uses, anything would be good.
