Sunday Stills

Sunday Stills

This weeks challenge: Landscapes (Fall Foliage)

Things down here in south Georgia are still pretty green.

Last week we went to north Georgia about 6 hours away hoping to find a little color.

On Tuesday we went to Blue Ridge and rode the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad.
As you can see from these pictures we found very little color.

It was still a pretty ride and a great getaway for the two of us.

The 26 mile round trip follows along side the Taccoa River. It was really a pretty and peaceful ride.

The train ride starts at the historic depot, built in 1905 in downtown Blue Ridge, then stops for a layover in the quaint sister towns of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee. There is a blue line running through the middle of town. One side is Georgia and the other is Tennessee. With one foot on each side of the line you are standing in two states at once.

It was one of the few sunny days we had on our trip.

Sorry Sunday Still friends, this is the best I could do for "Fall Foliage".

It's just still to Green down here in the south.

Gigi,
What a nice, peaceful day for you! I can't believe it's 82 degrees there! No wonder you couldn't find a lot of Fall foliage!

I love trains. I once rode the train from UT to NY and it was breath taking! I think I would go everywhere on a train if we had one here in town!

Gigi, who needs color to represent fall. Your photos are amazing. I really, really, really, LOVE that first photo. I've always been fascinated with trains winding through a countryside. I just took a photo of a train this week. I"ll probably post it at a later date. Of course, I snapped it from the car window doing 70 mph so it's not the greatest photo, but I still like it.

Have a fabulous weekend.

It was only yesterday that I noticed it was Autumn here. Time to stop and notice the leaves methinks!

wonderful shots all the same. It takes a little longer for the color to reach South Georgia, here in NC it's at it's prime.

I love that photo of the landscape with the wood fence in it. Makes me think of Gone With the Wind or another favorite movie of mine North and South.
I'd love love love to visit the South.
I'd love to sit and eat pecan pie with you my friend. We would giggle and giggle.
