Chocolate Icing
1 stick of butter
2 Tablespoons cocoa
3 cups powder sugar
dash of vanilla
(I will sometimes use a block of cream cheese and make this a chocolate cream cheese icing, either way it's yummy)
I've had this recipe for 33 years. I got it from a Ricks College roommate by the name of Cheryl Jones. I don't make it often but when I do, it's the best and always makes me think of her. It's one of Travis' favorites.

Thanks Gal, This sounds wonderfully delicious. I'll give it a try after we get moved and settled. I'll need to make sure the oven works at the rental. I'll be posting about this soon. Blessings, SusanD
I want chocolate cake! I will make this cake and think of you...have to have the cream cheese icing!

Oh good ol' ricks collage!!!
Thanks, now when I step on the scale and cry,
I can blame you right!?
I'm excited, I'm always looking for a new good cake recipe.
Thanks!!
Gigi! Good Morning!
I made your chocolate last night – HUGE and I mean HUGE hit. I did it as a Bundt and didn’t make the chocolate icing, I did a glaze with powdered sugar and added almond extract to the glaze. This was the first time I made a chocolate cake from scratch and I was amazed at how easy it was and how beautiful it came out,
This recipe is a keeper and I know I’ll make this cake a lot. Thanks for posting it!
Katherine
