Friday Shoot~Out's

"Friday Shoot-Out"

Started by Reggie Girl and Patty

The subject is "MY HOMETOWN
NATIVE FOODS & RESTAURANTS"

chosen by the smokin hot Loida in China .
Take any pics you like....the food you and your family eat, restaurants and/or bars in your town. There are absolutely no rules in the shoot-out's and everyone is welcome. We invite any and everyone to join in the fun. If you want to play along next Friday and and any Friday to come, go to Gordon's blog and leave him a comment and he'll add you to the group!

I live in a tourist town and there are lots of wonderful places to eat. It would take weeks to cover all that Brunswick has to offer. So what I have done is to show you just some of our favorites.
I'll start with Breakfast:

Hands down for the price Zeig's has
the best breakfast in our neighborhood.

The Grand~girls ask to go here every
morning. We do go at least once a week.
Summertime a little more often.

Cheese grits are what they always
order to eat with a side of bacon.

Now if you want a great pecan pancake

you can always go to the Cracker Barrel.
They have an excellent breakfast too.

Grandy's is a happening place for Breakfast too. Especially with the high school crowd. They have a great breakfast bar and the bestest Cinnamon Roll around! The thing I like best is that they have a great drive through and it's pretty quick.

They have great fried chicken and country fried steak for lunch and dinner too. I usually have their roast chicken dark meat plate.

Next would be lunch!

Willie's Wee-Nee Wagon

I mention Willie's because Mr. Willie

passed away last week, April 8.
I wish I knew how long this place
has been opened. I've lived here
32 years and it has been here
as long as I have.

Never know them to have to pay

out that $ 2000.00 either.

Last time we went Harry had the

pork chop sandwich and I had the

slaw~dog! You just can't go wrong!

Another good thing about Willie's

is that it's right across the street from

the college. Perfect for a quick

dog between classes.

Allen's Bar~B~Q

A really good place to get a quick lunch.

Only a few miles from the shop.

Harry and the boys eat here at

least once a week.

Melissa is the manager. She is one

of the nicest people around.

One of their specialities is Beef Brisket, it is so moist and tender. That's actually the only thing I've ever eaten from there. Of course the boys have probably had one of everything. That's my Brisket Henry is cutting up, YUM!

I love the Wee-Nee Wagon. Great photos, and cute young ladies you have there.

My grandmother used to make me pork chops all the time, with a side of "real" fries. I loved them. I am a vegetarian now, but I can still taste those lovely chops she made for me.

Oh, and she always had a just-right frozen coke in the fridge to go with my chops and fries. A "real" coke in a "real" bottle.

Great job again gigi!!! That Grandy's sounds too good and the Wee-Nie wagon sounds delightful. So sorry to hear about Mr. Willie. It's so sad when a local foodie hero passes away isn't it?
What an outstanding job and thanks for the visit to Brunswick. I want you to take me to Allen's if I ever make it over that way okay?
You're just a joy gigi :)

Gigi, is Allen's Barbeque better than Mack's? When we lived in Brunswick Mack's was our favorite.

Whoa, glad to know another participant in here!

Zeig's Cafe seems like it doesn't only offer the best Breakfast, it offers a good and welcoming facade too!

Willie's place seems like an interesting and delicious place to go to! Sad that the pioneer passed away, I wonder who runs the business now?

Great essay. Can picture myself being there.

Kids do enjoy stuff more than anyone else. Need to retreat even farther into childishness. And cheese grits are not just for kids.
